| Lonely... What does she need? Every week, I spend about three complete days with Penny.. and two half days.. and 2 days at school from 9am - 6pm. I HATE leaving her home alone.. she's so good becaause everything is where it should be.. but when I come home, she gets so excited and doesn't calm down for about 30 min. I live in a studio and I just think about how bored she could be.. And I wonder what she's doing when she's home alone. I'm trying to find another puppy so that they could be w/each other always.. But right now, another dog is out of the question. Does anyone have any ideas of giving her some forms of entertainment? So far, I've left the tv on Animal Planet, which is good entertainment for her when I'm sitting w/her.. but it gets way to hot in the apartment. ANY IDEAS??? |

| Katy loves to play with her treat ball. She rolls it everywhere (sometimes she doesn't even pick up the treats)! |

| Kong toy with treats, bully sticks, steak bone...I agree they love the treat ball.Mine will just roll it and leave the treats on the floor.I think the best playmate is another puppy though. I myself can't afford another either. I have read articles that says its okay to leave them for 8 hours a day so long you take them out for sufficient walks and play with them before and after you go out.

| As above, i also think a good doggy day care would be yout best bet, there's lots of friends there for her It's heart breaking to leave them behind, knowing they get lonely.

| awww i feel the same way... and I dread winter as those days are going to be blistery cold and snowy. And my pup doesn't enjoy walking in the cold no matter how warm I wrap him. I wake up at 5 30 even though I need to leave for work after 11, and play with my dog, if it's kind of nice I walk him for an hour or so... Usually hubby gets home 5 hours later but I see he doesn't play with the pup the way I do (they just 'chill' ). I've been looking for a daycare for a couple days per week, but I get off after 7 and work quite a while from home.... the ones I found close by 7 PM. Lonely puppy is my dilemma as well
