| My Pups are Chewing at Everything! HELP! My little Oreo & Ginger are both going to be 6 Months old (on the 12th & 16th this month).. My concern is, they chew everything! They've ruined about 3 speakersets of my Boyfriends, Chews at my clothes and laundry, chews on all the furniture, not to mention the place under the bed! I've put pillows under there, but they will literally squeeze themselves under there and chew at everything. They've also chewed up my boyfriends glasses! all this chewing is getting quite expensive... I've tried the Bitter Apple Spray, two different brands, doesn't work, tried the spray bottle thing - the absolutely love getting wet lol so that didn't work, I've tried deoderant on the things i don't want them to chew on, they love it. and i've also tried hairspray(Someone recommended that). I dont know what else to do, everyone is getting mad at me because they are destroying the house.. any advice before i lose my mind and my family and my house lol. |

| Do you give them an alternative to those things to chew on? Like a stuffed toy, chew toy, or some kind of treat that they can gnaw on? They may be teething at this point and absolutely need something to chew on because it's so uncomfortable for them. Good luck! |

I noticed that Oreo's ears, one up and one's down. I thought they were just trying to be destructive! lol they were chewing the wood under the bed! If i do buy them some toys, what toys are really good or that you all recommend? (i don't want to give them a rope toy in fear of them breaking free the thread on the ends and swallowing them. i've heard they can get caught in the intestines and something bad will happen, and Oreo tends to swallow the thread) Thank you All so much for your advice. | |

| Bless your heart! And you have it X 2!!! Oscar loves to chew as well and to this day (knock on wood) has not chewed up anything he was not supposed to. I caught him chewing on the power supply cord to my laptop and scared him into his third year of life when I hollered at him...I don't think he will do that again. Oscar absolutely loves Cheweez...it is a beefhide chew made by Purina. I get him the the Chicken Flavor because they don't have red dye in them to get on the carpet. They are classified "savory dog treats" and are sold in the treat section in the pet department at Walmart. This is what the box says "High Quality Standards. Chew-eez is a highly digestible beefhide treat for your dog. Since Chew-eez is made from selected cuts of beefhide, strips can vary in size, shape, color and thickness. Chew-eez strips are packaged by weight; number of pieces vary by box. Feeding your dog Chew-eez on easy to clean floors is recommended. Feed as a treat; make sure your dog always has fresh water." Oscar can chew on one of these for a month before it needs to be replaced. I just watch him on the thin ones and when he wears it out, I give him a new one. He has them all over in his favorite places and we take them when we travel so he can have something to do then...it really helps with boredom. I hope you can get the chewing under control...it is bad enough that they are destroying your stuff, but the worse that could happen is that they harm themselves in the process. | Yes Oscar's Mom I do not want them to harm themselves! Especially them eating the wood from under the bed! I don't know what to put under the bed! i stuffed it with huge pillows, but they manage to squeeze through! I'm scared (knock on wood) That the bed isn't stable enough and will fall, or They will hit their heads and i'm scared they might really injure themselves, and also when they chew the wood that's holding the bed up, i'm scared of them swallowing the wood and it puncturing their little stomachs. I try to tell them "no bite or No chew" .. but Ginger gets really mad and barks back at me she can be so fiesty sometimes.. but it's my fault i let her! i dont know how to tame her. |

| Welcome to the chew club... Mocha chewed through my computer cord, phone wire, TV cable cord, my air conditioner, my rug, and my brand new floor!! I tried putting lemon juice on my hands (someone recommended that) and she absolutely LOVED it... My vet said it will get better with time but its getting really expensive.. It was over 50 dollars to replace the cords.. Good Luck

| If I have learned ANYTHING being owned by a Yorkie it is that they can't have TOO MANY toys! Oscar has a whole basket full and plays with everyone of them...now if I could just teach him to pick them up and put them back??? Yeah right!!! Most of his toys did not cost over $5...they seem to like the noise makers best...and the stuffed animals...Oscar just humps his brains out on those! LOL BAD DOG!!! | I agreed with Debbie, noisy toys and stuffed animals seem to be the ones that Gucci likes. She also likes the rope. You say that you don't want to give them a rope in fear of them breaking free the thread on the ends and swallowing them. What I do is to check all of her toys and if it is loose or broken i try to repair it or I replace it. I heard the ropes is like dental floss to them. At least my Gucci loves hers. My Gucci used to chew on my furniture, i tried the sour apple but didnt work. I kept telling her NO and gave her a chew toy. I dont know if that work or she just grew out of it. LOL. At least you know there is hope. Good luck. |

| My advice would to be confine them when you cannot keep an eye on them.I would definitely buy them some stuffed toys. They have stuffed pigs and other farm animals for babies at Target in the $1 aisle. Good luck.
