| Rabies Shot Tucker is scheduled to get his rabies shot on Saturday. Is there anything that I should keep an eye out for after? I know that others have had bad experiences after their pups got this shot. He hasn't had any reactions to any of the other shots he has had. Also, I was planning on getting him groomed that same afternoon. Do you think it will be too much for him to get a rabies shot & go to the groomer on the same day?

| Rabies shots and going to the groomers IMO is little too much for a puppy. He'll be little sluggish which is one of the reactions fron the rabies shot. But if he was no reactions or affects to shots and if he is ok and not sluggish I'd say go for it.

| Chachi is getting his rabies on Saturday too. I would think getting the shot and going to the groomers would be too much too. I've heard also they can be tender around the area where they get the shot.

| Yeah - I guess I can hold off on thr groomers to be safe. It's just that the hair on his little face is out of control. His eyes are getting all goopy & his face is completely covered in hair! I think he's going to start walking into things!

| Chachi's hair is the same way. I'm gonna get him into the groomers sometime next week after we get past the rabies shot.

| Rabies Shot Hi there. What I do: Wait until the dog/cat is 7 months- 1 year of age. Make sure the animals is well rested, well hydrated, and supllemented for at least a few weeks with missing link, and other goodies before any vac. Then when the Vaccination is done, I take the animal home, and let them rest for a day in a comfortable, dark, peaceful place. Our St. just turned 7 months. I think based on what I see physically he is not yet ready, so I will wait until next month to take him in for his rabies. Feliz just turned 3 months, and is now 2 lbs. I will wait 5-8 months more before I take her. I understand yorkies immune systems do not really mature until 8 months of age. I hope this helps, deborah |
