| How much cheese is to much??? i read that alot of you yorkie mommies give cheese daily, well i could not get my baby to eat, so i tried the cheese, now that is all she will eat, i was able to fool her for a min, by putting it under the babyfood, and she had to lick the baby food to get to it, but, isnt cheese "binding" to the poopie,,i guess im just so glad shes eating something, nutracal alone dosent seem good enough to me..i am also putting it in a syringe, and makeing her eat(baby food)..but then for like 2 hours she dosent want anything to do with me she runs,,(then i feel like the bad mommy, and my baby is gonna hate me...so help a new yorkie mommy out please...she has (cociddia) or how ever you spell it, and is on the meds for 14 days its been 3 on the meds, her poopies are better...but i want her to be able to go, ???back to the cheese issue???

| What type of food do you feed her now? I feed mine Royal Canin Puppy and sometiems I will sprinkle a pinch of shredded cheese in the food bowl, then mix it around they love it and they eat everything right up. I would be carefull not to give too much, just a pinch should be OK. I would worry anymore could get her constipated. My Missy had coccidia at 9weeks of age and if I remember correctly I think I fed her a bland diet??? She also had diariah at that age so I dont remember if it was the bland diet for the Diariah or the Coccidia but I would give her steamed white rice and boiled and strained hamburger meat. Did your vet tell you to feed her differently while on medication for Coccidia? |

| the small puppy from Eukanuba is what the breeder said to give, i have tried it with broth, gravy baby food, scrambled eggs, yogurt, boiled chicken, my husband even put steak in the food processor, she walks away, except for cheese..the vet said at this point just get her to eat..but like i mentioned when i use the syringe, she gets very upset with me, i have even tried to do like with the baby, and pretend im eating it, then try to give her the spoon, nothing..but shell run around in the kitchen like shes hungry under the counters, but wont eat any thing from the floor there( i put chicken there to see),,i am hoping as the days go shell get better, the vet said he has never seen that many coccidia eggs in a sample before, and shes only about 1lb 3 oz, maybe less now with the eating issues,,

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Cheese WILL constipate a yorkie quick ...My Chanel had coccidia when we got her also - she was very sick and we ended up in the ER - Just feed your puppy very bland food....I would be careful with the cheese - you don't want to go from diareah to totally plugged up - The medicine will work fast for your puppy - just make sure you give lots of water...I gave Chanel Pedialite for babies with nutrients in it to help with dehydration. I hope your puppy feels better |

| Have you tried to feed her a bland diet such as steamed white rice and boiled chicken breast or boiled hamburger meat? I think if you made some of that and that was the only choice she had (hide the cheese! lol) she will eat it. I believe its 2 or 3 parts rice to 1 part meat. Just give her about 1tbl every 4 hours. I remember now, thats what I did with Missy when she was 9weeks with coccidia and she ate it and it helped a lot! Coccidia is very curable but also takes a lot out of them and they definatly need to eat, I wouldn't give her any more cheese. Missy recently had diariah from eating a new bone she wasnt used to so the vet gave her medicine for her diariah, the medicine constipated her and she was constipated for 4 days! It was so scarey, knowing your yorkie baby is constipated is just as bad as knowing they have diariah. Good luck! I know your baby will be 100% relieved of her coccidia once your done with the medicine but she does need to eat especially at her size, give the bland diet a try |

| My Max loves cheese but if he eats to much he gets... "backed up" plus I heard its not good for dogs to have cheese... So I bought him cheese flavored chew sticks at Petco (they don't have real cheese in them) He loves them! As for eating I looked into that dog gravey they have now, I don't remember what its called but they have in most places they have dog food. It comes in a Bottle that looks like the type you get BBQ sauce in.

| Please consider trying Nutro puppy food by Natural Choice. (Green label on can.) My Sophia had trouble with so many different foods, but this food was perfect for her. And, she loves it!! You can get it at Petsmart. Keep us posted. I hope she does well.
