| ICK! what I woke up to this morning! This post is kinda gross but here goes.....Uggg, I woke up this morning around 6 am to find poor little Bella with "cuc butt". She went poop and NONE of it went on the paper! The entire thing was stuck to her butt. I honestly didnt know where to begin. I had to wrap her up in a towel and carry her around with me while I prepared her bath so that she wouldnt get it on anything else. What a MESS. I just got finished cleaning up a little while ago, (bleaching and disinfecting everything in site) and now Bella has "baboon butt" . Ive been trying to keep them groomed here at home because after all of the horror stories that Ive been hearing about groomers Im just scared to bring them, except to get their nails trimmed because I am holding them while they do it. But I guess Im not trimming the hair around their little butts that well. Anyone else ever have these problems? Sorry about the grossness but I had to share.

| Yes, I've had that problem. I always know when it's time for a trim if anything starts to stick. LOL It freaks my dogs out to. I guess the think someone is chasing them or something. |

| Poo Ornaments Here's one for you. I noticed that one my litter (8 wks old) was straining and straining and couldn't seem to go. Picked her up, took a look, and bless her heart she had poo so caught up in her hair that it was blocking the exit. I guess she'd sat on it the night before and it had dryed there. It was really scary to cut that close but I got it out. She was able to relieve herself after that. You never know what you'll run into with these little darlings. They say 1/2 inch around the anus should do it but if the hair is thick and fluffy, sometimes it takes more! |

| Yup I've been there too I take them to the sink and use the sprayer on their little butt till it is gone. then I scrub the sink. It does no good to try to pick it off with tissue. |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | That's totally gross. It happened to me a couple of times with Bengi. When the poop gets stuck if his little butt he wants it out! so he'll try to find some help. The thing is that if for some reason we are not around at that precise moment, he rubs his butt over the carpet!!! eeeekkkkk! |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I hope she feels better - we went thru that a few weeks ago and I swear - Chanel had 9 butt baths in ONE day....she too got a trim but I didn't really worry about it till she felt better - I hope she feels better - try a little pepto bismal ?? That's what a friend told me to try - and chicken and rice - that may help settle her tummy... |

| Our terrier mix that we lost in January used to have this problem all the time! When her hair would start getting too long, she'd get 'blocked up' and we'd have to give her behind a good cleaning. Haven't yet had this problem with Topher but we've been going to the groomers regularly so I guess that's been keeping things okay. I don't envy you the mess...I remember what that was like. |

This exact thing happened to Maddie two days ago and then again this morning! At first I was scared because I thought she was constipated, but then I noticed she had dried poop in all the hair back there. So I had to give her back end mini baths. It's so disgusting. But today she and Wesley are going to the groomer so hopfully we won't have to deal with that again. They were overdue for their grooming appointment, but these experiences have made me vow to make sure they go every 5 or 6 weeks at the most!!! I would definately recommend grooming. You might have to search around a while for a groomer that you like and trust, but it's well worth it in the end! Good luck! | |
