| Does your dog scratch conatantly? You would think my little guy has fleas. He doesn't. But he is constantly scratching himself with his leg. Any clues? Dry skin? It drives me crazy. |

| No mine dont hardly ever scratch themselves. If they did and they didnt have fleas I would suspect it was allergies

| My guess would be allergies or dry skin. Has he scratch since you got him or is this some thing new? If it is some thing new check to see what is new in his environment. New food, new soap, new detergent for the family? This time of year mine start to scratch a little, and I just assume it's due to changes in the weather. My skin starts to get dry and itchy this time of year. I would try a moisturizing shampoo.

Donating YT 11K Club Member | What food are you giving him? If it has corn in the first 4 ingredients I think he may be allergic to it. Teddy used to scratch like crazy when he was eating Royal Canine but then I switched to Innova and he hasn't scratched since.. |

| Ginger used to scratch like crazy. I don’t know if it was the switch in food or the weather that stopped it. She’s on Nutro Max now (and loves it) and the weather hasn’t really gotten cold yet…but when it does, I’m sure she’ll be scratching again; it’s SO dry here. If your climate is good, than I would switch the food.

| re:itchy yorkie Hi there. I have a little yorkie who is 4 years old and she had a lot of itching! Then she would get sick and not eat. I quit giving her dog food. I now cook for her and she is doing much better I think. I think she has reactions to corn or something in dry dog food. Today I talk to a "hollistic vet" today on the phone and told her about my Cassie. She said that people forget that our little dogs are animals and that their systems weren't designed for "human made" dog foods. She told me that I didn't really even need to cook Cassie's meat. That dogs digestive tracts are different than ours and that they digest food much more quickly. She also told me that vaccinations for our animals aren't necessary...but...I'm not convinced of that point! Cassie eats gd turkey, carrots, peas, beans, cauliflower, sweet potatoes, etc.She is very spoiled and content! Good luck with your little Yorkie! Hope this helps! |

| How old is your baby? My vet said that if they are growing a new coat, that can make them itch. Otherwise, I too would have to say an allergy to food or to something you are bathing/grooming with.

| Paul Mitchell has a pet line out now and he has oatmeal products that work really good for the itching. Probably dry skin, they smell nice too. Kind of an almond smell.

| Mine scratches himself a few times a day. There is no fleas, a little dandruff but not as much as before. I guess it is because the weather is changing and is getting dry here. My skin feels dry too.

| Yes, it may very well be an allergy - either to food or shampoo.

| I know what you mean!!!My little one scratches a lot too. I was convinced she had fleas. The vet said that puppies scratch a lot...The breeder had her on Science Diet and I'm in the process of changing her over to Wellness. I'll see if that makes a difference.
