| Flight issues!! I just found out that my flight home from Japan to Canada does not allow pets in the cabin any longer. I am flying JAL. Even AirCanada has discontinued its pet cabin requests!! What is going on. I am freaking out now. Has anyone ever had to check their yorkie?? We have to get back to Canada and so I am sorta stuck. I am really upset |

| I would contact the airline immediately! Surely, since the rule changed after you flew to Japan, and they allowed your baby on the trip over they will make an exception and allow the return? We have flown with Toto many, many times and never had this happen. I would never, ever allow her to fly cargo .... it would be too hot/cold and traumatic! Stick to your guns and hopefully they will be cooperative. Good luck and please update us!

| It's reasons like this that make me think of buying my own private jet Is it too late to switch the airlines? Could you atleast get a credit for this airline that you could sell to someone else, or use at a later time. Definitly try asking if they'll make an exception. Did you already pay for your baby to fly with you? If you did then they should definitly make the exception, or credit you back what you paid

| Actually I purchased my baby over here. I mistakenly assumed that it would not be an issue. Looks like all the airlines are changing their policy, which is terrible. I think I am stuck. I feel horrible. I looked into a number of other airlines, but it looks like it would cost me up to $2000 for a new ticket! I will go out and buy a crate, try and start getting her comfortable. Maybe the vet can perscribe something to relax her. Realistically this will probably be harder on me then her! |

| That's a pitty!!! But when I had my 150 lbs. Leonberger there was of course no way she could go into the cabin with me. I took her for 4 flights and she was lightly sedated by my vet resp. pills he prescribed for the return flight. I think if there is really no other way and you can dress her warm, put her favorite toy and a blanket smelling of you into the crate and give her a mild sedative, she should do just fine. Just make sure you watch the crate go on board, have all the papers ready and get off the plane fast to get to the pick up point. Good luck for you and your furbaby!!! |
