| Has anyone ever used a black light for finding missed potty stains?? I have heard you can use a black light to locate potty odors that might have been missed in after a clean-up. That way you can make sure your little ones aren't smelling pee pee on your carpet even if you can't see it to clean it thoroughly. I know they sell the black lights at Petco for that purpose. Has anyone ever tried this before? We can't get Honey to stop peeing on the carpet at night when we have gone to sleep and I am trying to make sure she can't smell it still and think it is okay to keep "going" there. Any one tried this before??? Honey's Mommy |

| I haven't tried it, but my mother-n-law uses for her cats. One day I went over there and she showed me how it worked. It worked really well! I was thinking about getting one, because I also need to make sure I haven't missed any spots.

| Yep, they work, but it has to be "pitch" dark for me to see it!! We got one of those little ones from Petco.

| Those seem pretty interesting, considering i have tough carpet, it would be hard for me to really clean it all off with the naked eye, i might buy one of those as well and try to see if my steam cleanin missed any spots. |

| yeah, we are getting ready to have our carpet steam cleaned and I want to try and do as much "pre-treatment" as possible and then see afterwards how much it really got clean. I wonder if you could just use a black light bulb (like you get at the party stores around Halloween) and not have to buy the whole thing at Petco? Honey's Mommy |

| Works really well!! I am into antiques and the way you know if vaseline glass is old is to use a black light. So, I have several around and use them to check the carpet. I find other things I cant see in the light also. My daughter has evedently marked on her carpet with a yellow marker because it shows up and so does Kool Aid spills.

| Yes it works,, and so does just a blacklight bulb.. but it does have to be completely black in the room,, I used it when my 16 year old cat started having accidents,,, I was HORRIFIED when I found what I found!! I just bought a regular blacklight bulb and put in one of those desk lights that has the adjustable arm and walked around with a long extension cord.. Luckily the cat stayed in one room! But thats when I went in search of the odor remover,, which worked... I posted it on here before... 1 bottle hydrogen peroxide, 1 teaspoon dawn dish soap, and one tablespoon baking soda ,, mix and pour or squirt on spots you find! let dry and vacuum.

| Thanks for the "formula"! I have just been using regular cleaner since Toto decided to revert to "baby puppy"! I can't imagine why she is doing this because she has been perfect with pad training! Thanks too for letting us know that a regular bulb will also work! I didn't bring the little blacklite that I bought at Petco and had been thinking I would either have to wait until I go home to visit or buy another! I will just get a bulb. Congratulations, Honey's Mom, on your promotion!!

| You really wanna see something gross? Take the blacklight to your own clean personal bathroom! Better yet, take it into the bathroom at work! It works on human dispersment as well as animal. You will never use a public bathroom again..... |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | now I'm really scared ! Natures Miracle has also worked for me...when we moved into this house I could smell something in the carpets....I used it ...and Viola - no smell ...but the blacklight would probably make me eat those words. |
