| Yorkies and cats Hi everyone, I live in a large condo with my little 5lb Chiquita and before she came to live with me, I owned 2, 15 year old cats. Maine Coone cats. From the moment Chiquita saw these cats she loved them and did everything to get their attention. She is 15 months old right now and not only lives with two gentle giants (That is what people call Maine Coones, because they start at 17lbs) she won't leave them alone. When I drop Chiquita off at my best friends house she plays with my girlfriends cat who is 5 years old. Question is how many people have yorkies living with cats in the house? If you have a yorkie and a cat how is going? For me it is remarkable to see such a little dog dominate two large older cats. Both these cats are fixed but not declawed and have never shown any aggression at all. Let me know Troie |

| Well my Daisy loves my 20lb cat..(he is just super fat). He on the other hand has never been aggressive but gets annoyed with her trying to always bite his ears! He usually just walks away or jumps on the couch. Daisy can't jump on the couch yet!

| Max loves any other animal, I think, LOL! I have 2 cats, both about 12 yrs old, one is a Maine Coon and she loves to play with Max..he jumps on her and if she gets tired of it, she swats at him and then goes somewhere that he can't, hehe. It's really cute to watch them play. My male cat, is very timid and is just getting kind of used to him. He used to run away from Max, but now, he'll kind of stand him down, LOL. He's just not used to such activity. But neither of the cats have ever hissed at him even the first time they saw him .

| I wish I had as good of luck as all you with your cats and yorkies....I have a huge cat also about 25 lb...Im guessing hes part maincoon by his height...but they have never became friends and I have had Lady for about 6 months now...Jager (my cat) did not like Lady at all when we first brought her home...he was growling all the time at her and hissing...now he pretty much tolerates her...hes constantly swatting at her though the gate...and he'll run after her when shes out playing but when he swats her she crys and gets very upset at him...hes not declawed (im always cutting his nails) so Im always worring about Lady getting hurt and I never leave them alone in a room together, I still don't trust Jager with her...I hate the fact that they can't just be cute little friends... |

| My puppy is 10 weeks old, my ragamuffin is 9 mos old. Fonzie (the cat) is about 11lbs and Bobo (the yorkie) is about 1lb and a few oz. Bobo has only been here a few days and so far Fonzie thinks I got him his very own play toy, Bobo will go after Fonzie also, so hopefully things will calm down soon with these two. I can tell that Fonzie is jealous, I try to spend time with only him still, too bad there are not more hours in the day. It is great hearing all the happy cat dog stories. Tammy |

| I have a 3 yr old Tonkinese cat, Misty Blue, that weighs about 8 pounds. When I first brought Abbey home Misty Blue hid under the bed for a week. Whenever the puppy went under there, she would just hiss at her. But, after a week she came out and decided "Maybe this is a new toy", and started to play with Abbey. At first they played so rough I was afraid one of them would get hurt, but now just rough house some of the time. Every night everyone gets in the bed while we watch tv and Misty Blue puts one arm over Abbey and washes her from head to toe. Abbey just lies there quietly...it is their night time ritual. Then they both go to their part of the bed and sleep until Abbey has to go in her crate for the night. They share toys, chase each other around the house and if Abbey 'has an accident' and misses her pee pads, Misty Blue is right there trying to cover it up. Sometimes I have found Misty Blue in Abbey's crate, lying in her bed. They really are best friends. Much more so than with our 6 yr old toy poodle. Katie pretty much ignores both of them. I really was surprised at how well they get along. Who knew? Ellie |

| When Stump was about 4 months old (It was last X-mas) we were at a relative's house and she has like 6 cats! Anyway, Stump tried playing with one and she scratched him in the eye. I had never seen him cry so much, his whole face was covered in tears and he was whining soo much. My brother was like "Can I kill the cat" and I told him no because she probably was annoyed by Stump and trying to protect herself. But I've decided Stump and cats don't mix. |

| It’s amazing how many of us own Maine Coons, as they are not easy to find, and mine was $750.00. Just curious as to how much they cost where you live. Anyway, both Surfie and Tiki think they are the mom and dad to Kona. She will be one next month and weighs in at 8.6 pounds. They are constantly licking her eyes and ears, and it is so darn cute. I’m lucky, as they ADORE each other. The hubby really wants another Maine Coon, but with the three fur-triplets, I’m done for now.

| I have two cats and three dogs in my house. Harley and Sweet Pea love to sleep with my cats and whiskey loves to chase them around the house and pounce on them and chew on their ears till they howl!!! I got my daughter a 6 month old male cat(Mr. Cuddles) from the American Humane Society(already fixed) for her birthday in April. Then my youngest dtr. wanted her very own baby kitty so I got another male kitty(Mr. Kitty) a few days older than Whiskey. He just got fixed himself. Anyway I brought Whiskey and Mr. Kitty home the same day and they think they are brother and sister they are always up each others butts!!! I have never had a problem with either cat clawing or biting my dogs they all just play and snuggle together all the time.

| Gracie's brothers and sisters are 4 cats. Gracie loves them all, but is partial to the smallest of the cats. She gets along better with the male cats than with the females. I think that is because the males just have nicer dispositions, more accepting and more tolerant. They all sleep in bed with me, so obviously all is not war at our house! The challenge is keeping the cats out of the dog food and the dog out of the cat food!
