| Bailey goes to work with me everyday, BUT, when I leave in the evening, or weekend, YES, he is crated.. its just safer, and easier! And he likes it! All he does is sleep anyway, Ive checked!

I prefer confining in an X pen for any time over an hour. They are safe but have a bit more wiggle room. I put their crate inside the pen so they still have access to their safe place-their bed/den. Toys, food and water are put in with them..

My little Benji stays in a playpen while we go to work. Unfortunately from 7:30-3:30 :-( He has a blanket, a little food and water, a wee pad in the corner and his toys. He doesnt potty in there or really eat. Only occasionally will he do either one. Once he gets out he runs to the yard with the others and potties. I wish he did that all the time! He's only 5 months, so it makes us feel safer. He is a big chewer and would probably chew up the house if he was left to roam. Maybe not, but we dont want to take the chance. As soon as he stops the 'puppy chewing', we will leave him out with the others.

Well in the daytime i don't because i'm always with them. I only crate them when i must leave to go eat breakfast/potty/shower etc like that. when i can't keep an eye on them. I had to learn that the hard way when they chewed on ALL my cords to my computer twice!

We keep an old piece of wood panelling on top of the playpen. This was done originally to keep our cats from jumping in. Now when I leave for work Benji stands by the playpen to go in. He's gotten used to it, although I am sure he'd rather be out and about. I bought a teething kong - the blue and white one - and fill it with the kong paste, then freeze it. When I leave, I give that to him. That keeps him occupied for a little while. My son, who is upstairs and leaves a couple of hours later for work, said he doesn't hear Benji fuss. But, of course, he's jumping up and down and barking when he hears us come home!

Pip stays in his crate with bed food and water while I am at work. When I am home I leave the door of his crate open and now while I am on the computer he is lying in his crate and he can see me. He mostly sleeps with us but sometimes when I get up in the night he is fast asleep in his crate !! It is nice for them to have their own personal den I think

Believe it or not, my babies have their own puppy room in the basement - we have a baby gate up for them & we turn the stereo on classical music (rock music made them "wild!") They still hate it - but once I've gone back upstairs their crying stops - they have a toy box & 2 separate beds down there too.

So far, I have not had a climber or jumper. Of course, there is always a first time. With the Xpen having 8 sections that are 2X2 they have enough room to play a little. I use the kongs too with peanut butter stuck way back in the tiny end. I swear, somewhere in Yorkies background was a beaver!!!!!!
