| Will He Ever Get Use To it? ok so max is now 16 weeks he has been to the groomer, had several baths before he came to me, and two since ive had him ( once b/c he had a accident in the crate) he freaks out!! tries to constantly climb out of the tub, whines and whimpers, i am soacking wet from head to toe from trying to keep him in there! my boston terrier sampson is almost a year old, and has always liked the bath, ive never had this much trouble. so is this a common yorkie thing? or will he eventually get use to it? or maybe im just stuck getting wet all the time LOL. i hate that he doesnt like the experience.

| I bathe mine in the kitchen sink. Archie gave me big problems with his first several baths. I kept his harness on him so I could keep a good grip on him so as not to jump out of my hands. I only needed the harness on him for a few baths. Now he is the one who jumps in front of the hose. I can't rinse off the patio without out him playing in the water. just be gentle and talk in a soothing voice while you are bathing him. he may soon love getting baths.

| Starting all of mine out as pups, most of them just do not like a bath! Just sooth them and talk to them and tell them it will be fine, and so pretty they will be! |

| First stay calm they know if your not. Try giving a treat while you are doing it. I used the peanutbutter on my finger for Daisy. She would just lick my finger and forget what was going on. She would always lick me if she was nervious anyway so thats what gave me the idea. Oh and I use the kitchen sink also |

| I bathe mine in the kitchen sink. They don't like them either, and keep trying to climb, but I keep pushing them back and tell them to stay. |

| I use my walk in shower down stairs no one uses it, it kills my knee's (bad knees knee cap is wearing out) but they will stand there and let me bath them IF they decide they want out I just tell them no, I like the long shower hose and head better down there. BUT back to the bath when I allow them to get out I tell them how good they are and the same when I groom them they will let me do anything and ever long I want to them They are great I love everyone of them.

| hmm maybe thats why max wants out so badly, i give him a treat when he gets out ROFL. he is very very good when i groom him, suprisingly. and can anyone reccomend something for fleas? my boston has never had fleas, but i saw a few on max tonight when bathing him, all my aunts animals stay inside, so i dont think they came from there, kinda worried they actually came from the groomer, which im not happy with anyway.

Outside now that its starting to get coolerthe fleas are now looking for warm bodies to take them from the cold outdoors to the warm place for winter. I use frontline so never used a flea shampoo. | |

| Hope I don't get crucified for this.......... I had the same problem with my toy poodle and cat. I have yet to give my baby yorkie a bath. Anyhow, I too tried the kitchen sink, kneeling down by the tub, even the hose outside while playing and bribing.......and nothing. The ONLY way they both learned to be still and actually enjoy the bath is if I get right in the tub with them. I plug the tub and fill it 1/4 up with lukewarm water. I then sit on the tub and put the furball between my knees and gently and slowly wet them down first all while telling them how good they are The downside.........I can't take a bath by myself now! Everytime they here the tub filling they come right in and stick their paw in the water wanting to come in with me (especially the cat). I usually don't shut the bathroom door due to it just being my husband and I and the pets in our house. Funny thing, they hate the shower...........I think it startles them. Anyhow, I don't mind getting 'down and dirty' with my furkids. They get a bath every Saturday faithfully and usually just go outside to potty and play Jess

I bathe the girls in the sink...I think bathing in the tub could be overwhelming for them..they are so small and the tub is so big..I'm not saying that mine LOVE their baths but Sadie who is 2 1/2 yrs old has gotten used to it..Lillie who is 17 wks old doesn't do to bad...I think he will get used to it.

| Oliver is 16 months and he gets a bath every week and goes to the groomer ever 6 weeks. He still HATES the bath. As soon as I take out the shampoo from the hall closet, he goes and hides and starts shaking like a leaf. I don't think he will ever get used to it. |
