| Does anyone know.... How long does it generally take to get registration papers? The deal with Oscar's breeder was that once he was neutered, I would recieve the papers. So after he was neutered, I wrote her a big looong email describing his cryptorchid neuter and going on to tell her all about how he was doing and sent her some pictures. All i got back was a "thanks for the update". So I wrote her back again and mentioned the agreement and the papers. She said she just needed proof of the neuter so I scanned and sent her a copy of the vet notes and reciept. I asked her when i could expect them and she said it takes 2 to 3 MONTHS? Why on earth would it take that long? Oscar was neutered at 7mths and he will be one year old on Oct. 25th. I think that's more than enough time to have expected to recieve them is it not? I would have thought maybe 2 or 3 weeks to get the papers, but not months. Really, papers mean nothing to me... I'll just tuck them away somewhere in his file, but I want them because I PAID for a purebred, REGISTERED puppy. If I'm expected to keep up my end of the contract, should she not be expected to keep up her end as well?

| I recently got Angel spayed, and I had to send a copy of the spay certificate to the breeders. I just scanned it and sent it via e-mail. The wife said it'll take 12 weeks to get the registration papers so that seems to be the same amount of time. You could ask the CKC or check their website at www.ckc.ca. |

| The breeder should have already had the papers for the litter. Once you proved ths spay/neuter, they should have given them to you and you fill them out and send them in. I really don't know why it would take that long. If you don't have a spay/neuter contract they give you the papers when you get the puppy, so with the contract they should send them to you as soon as you have sent the proof. On the other hand if the dog is Spay/neutered, the papers really aren't important since you won't be breeding. Most people don't even bother with them. I may have that wrong, but that is the way I understand it to work. |

| I have some that are CKC and some that are AKC. On the CKC papers the breeder calls CKC and tell how many pups and mom and dad and you get the papers 7 to 10 days. If he is CKC the breeder should have his papers on hand.I don't know about AKC haven't had pups yet. I hope you get your his papers soon.

| Not sure how CKC works. I would ask lorraine of loriben I think is her list name. AKC - The breeder usually registers the litter immediately, gets the papers back within a couple of weeks. Once the proof of spay/nueter is presented to the breeder, she should have them to you within 7 days....the new owner registers the puppy with AKC.
