| What Are You Feeding Your Yorkies Hi everyone, I was was wondering what you guys are feeding your yorkies? Are you sticking to hard food only or are you feeding them soft food. I come from Toronto, Ontario and we have now become the capital in Canada for yorkie owners and lovers. Here in Toronto vets are only prescribing hard food. Since yorkies have such hard sharp teeth they don't prescribe soft food of any kind due to the fact that soft food stain the teeth and leave tartar that will only come off with professional cleaning. Just asking what do you guys think. I only feed my yorkie Chiquita Royal Canin Yorkie food, what are you guys feeding your yorkie. Love to know Troie |

| What Are You Feeding Your Yorkie I don't know what chicken soup for dogs is, but I love the fact that you know not to feed your Yorkie any soft food at all. Lets hear some more answers, it is so interesting to see if people are aware that even if a yorkie is tiny they only need hard food. Unless the yorkie has a digestive problem or and allergy to their food, hard food is the way to go. The fist thing to go on a yorkie at any age is the teeth. Keep those teeth chewing and eating hard food and your yorkie's teeth will shine. Of course brushing always helps too. Troie |

My furkids Donating Member | I feed Sadie (2 1/2 yrs old) Nutro Adult and Lillie (17wks old) Nutro Ultra Puppy. I do give them soft food (Nutro) with their kibbles once a day...I only give them 3 little chunks each, cut up....kinda like a treat. They have free dry kibbles throughout the day.

| I feed my boys Merrick dry - they love the Cowboy Cookout and Grammy's Pot pie. I also mix in a small amount of Royal Canin #30 for fussy small breeds. They have never eaten canned food and their teeth are in pretty good shape so far.

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | I have tried food after food and had so many digestive problems. i have now settled on on the new Royal Canin mini bites Dental. Seems to agree with them all and is good food that is helpful for their teeth ! Last thing I tried was Canine Caviar which is a wonderful organic food, unfortunately a couple of my dogs got horrid loose stools from it so I had to discontinue. Seems like settling on the right food for them is the biggest problem with Yorkies !

| Both of my yorkies 2 1/2 and 4 months eat Royal Canin in the morning and chicken and rice (their treat) in the evening. I leave the dry Royal Canin out during the day. |

| I used to free feed but now I feed my dogs three times a day. I use Royal Canin Yorkshire Terrier for Darla and the puppy Royal Canin for Reece. My big dog Sadie likes a cheaper dog food and so do the little ones so I have to watch they dont sneak bites of her food and they love when they get away with a big ol nugget of it lol...of course my big dog Sadie loves if she gets a bite of their food?? Go figure.. Dawn |
