| My little Pete is 4.5lbs and 1.5yrs. he seemed to stop growing length and heigth wise around a year and filled out a little more for a few months. He seems to definatly be done now allthough last time he was at the vet he had gained weight but I think thats just because hes a little chicken monster. . . he loves his chicken! |

| Snickers weighs 9 lbs. and Baxter weighs 12 lbs. They both stopped growing around 9-10 months, but they both filled out and got muscular around 18 months.

| Oscar is about 3.5lbs and will be ONE YEAR OLD ( ) on Oct. 29th Ruthie is 2lbs and will be 6mths on Oct. 29th Yorkies can continue to grow anywhere from 12mths to 18mths. I've found with Oscar that he hasn't really gotten bigger since he was 8mths, but he's been filling out more and gaining weight that way. Growth rates are different with different dogs - some have early growth spurts and quit growing earlier, some are late bloomers and continue to grow much later. I've heard that tinier puppies stop growing earlier...

| Punkin came to live with us at 8 months old. SHe weighed 8.8 pounds then. She is now almost 18 months old and weighs 8.4 pounds. She has gown a bit longer, but that's it The vet is very happy with her current weight. SHe says a leaner dog is a healthier dog and that she should NOT weigh anymore than 9 pounds for her frame. We weigh her every few weeks to make sure she is not getting too many treats and not enough exercise.

| Hootie is 2.5 lbs at 5 months old and Hobbs is 3.5 lbs at 1 year old. It seems that Hootie has reached a plateau, but I hope she gaines a least another pound before she stops growing. I call her my little hamster. I've always heard that they stop growing around 6 months of age. They may get a little "fatter" after 6 months, but I don't think they'll get "taller." |
