| furniture covers Oops, I accidentally posted this in training...Here it is again: Could anyone recommend a throw cover for a couch? Maddie occasionally pees on the couch. Plus, my pug is shedding like mad so I'd like to protect the couch as much as I can. Fosters and Smith sells them, but they run around $150 and I hesitate to buy something for that much when I know it's going to get peed on, vomitted on, and chewed on. Thanks in advance! |

| I was going to suggest slipcovers.com but they are quite expensive too. I have denim covers and they take a beating with 5 pups(one is 90 lbs) and take a great washing.. they have held up very well... d

If that isn't an option, you can buy one of those fabric backed vinyl picnic tablecloths, they come in various sizes. Put that down first then you can put even just a colourful comforter or flanel sheet on top. You could also put some pee pads under the sheet. The only drawback to this is it will depend ont he ages of your dogs. If they are pretty young, there is the risk of them pulling the blanket or sheet off of the vinyl tablecloth and chewing it up which wouldn't be good for them. | |

| I have tried several throws and slip covers. I found throws easier to work with as the slip covers never stay in place, grrrr.. now matter what fancy things I used to keep them tucked in. Also I found just regular duck cotton the best material for washing. Stay away from chenille, it looks great at first, soft, comfortable..... but in a matter of weeks it looks awful. It snags and piles very quickly. I wasted several hundred dollars on those ones. All the best and I like the idea of the vinyl table clothes underneath. All the best! |

| Walmart has some for $25 that are weaved. I don't think they offer good protection, maybe a slight buffer zone. But I'm sure it would get into the couch rather quickly. |
