| Found little yorkie My sister-in-law called about an hour ago. Her husband found a female yorkie wondering around his yard. I must say they live out in the county with very few homes around. He had been outside most of the day and this beautiful yorkie found him actually. He had not even seen any other people all day. Nobody even looking for a pup. He took her in, called authorities, and will contact more people after the weekend. The furbaby has tags, but the phone number is disconnected. We live in Iowa and it was an Illinois phone number. The furbaby was a little mussed up but groomed and well fed. Who could just lose a baby like this???? I took her some food and toys, (I think my brother in law is already in love) It only takes 5 minutes with a yorkie. Just had to post this in case somebody can tell me what to tell them what to do......

| Oh, boy! That's so sad, but at least the little one is safe and not running loose where something could harm it. I was thinking that perhaps some of the information in the sticky for finding a lost dog would help tell you what to do even though you're the one that found the lost dog! Does that make any sense? http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=49514

| Please have her checked for a microchip. Since she has an out of state tag she may have gotten away from someone who is travelling. My friend is a full time RV'er and her dog is chipped with her cell phone for the contact number. |

| Does she have a rabies tag? You can call the vet if she does and they can look up the owner with the tag # . I have done this and Found the owner in 15 min. Even if the vet is closed leave a message They may check mesages. Good luck. What area in Iowa are you/ I live in east Nebraska Near Omaha. |

| Thanks for all the good ideas. I'll pass on the info to my in laws. She is just a beauty, they said they have found a tag with a name "Cinder on Fire" which leads me to believe she must be AKC registered, I could call them on Monday. Another lead. She meets all the AKC standards on size and color, she must have cost someone a pretty penny and I'll bet someone is very sad tonight. I wish I could tell them she is warm, quiet, fed, and welcome in a small farm town in Iowa......wish me luck, I know God will show us the way. Thanks for listening.

| I lost my dog one time while on vacation...what a terrible feeling, luckily she had tags and I got a call the next day. I know alot of people dont like collars on their yorkies..so definetly check for a microchip and good luck finding her mommy and daddy, she probably misses them too!! Dawn |

| They might want to put an ad in the newspaper, and say the dog does have tags, but out of state. Ask for them to ID the dog and tell you what the tag says. Also might want to check the paper, see if anyone has lost a yorkie. Look for flyers up too. I know someone is sick with worry tonight. |

| Update. My sister in law just called. The owners of the yorkie were out looking for her and she has now been found by her owners. They had just moved to Iowa and she had slipped out on them. They were so happy someone had found her. She was really happy to see her human mom and dad. My sister in law was happy for them but kinda sad too. I think she had fallen in love too....it brought out the protective instint in her too.....

| Opps, in answer to Daisy Mae, we are on the eastern side of Iowa just north of Davenport Iowa about 20 minutes up the Mississippi River. This time of year it is in its glory with color....so beautiful.

| Awww Maybe they can go get themselves their own little yorkie... These dogs are so addictive. They must have been sad to see the little one go, but it's great they found the owners...
