| New Yorkie mom..HELP....Sick or Sad..? Hello to all, I am a new Yorkie mom, actually this is the first pet that me and my fiance have had, we had family dogs as kids but now we have a brand new 11 week old little guy named Ty...we have had him since he was going on 9 weeks. Today he has not been totally himself....I will try and make this to the point...The 1st 2 weeks we had him, he was not left alone, we both started a new job so this week has been VERY different for Ty, like the past few days one of us have been here with him, but the only time together is bed time...... while I was at work today, TJ..my fiance called and said he was different today, that he had spent most of the day in his crate, which we are glad he doesnt mind going in but he never goes in there except when we are gone and maybe for 5 min at a time, he said he just looked sad. Ty really had not ate anything and had a bad potty day, lots and lots of accidents.....again we are used to those but today was the worst ever. I did give him a cooked carrot wondering if maybe he didnt feel good but he ate it right up,just not in the mood for his dog food I guess, he seems to be drinking OK, now daddy justr got home and Ty was his normal excited self and now we are all on the couch and he is in the middle of us but he is acting like he he cant get comfortable but I have rubbed and poked everything on him and he did not make a peep, he justgoes back and forth, to me and him to by himself, so we are going to hit the bed, say a small prayer and hope you guys can give me any input. Thamks all..................CHRISTINE, TJ AND TY |

| I'm not 100% sure, but my guess is he missed you guys and he's kind of pouting. I think after the routine sets in he'll be ok. Just give him extra loves when your home. However, just monitor his behavior and eating in case this phase doesn't pass. Hopefully more experience folks can give you a more definate opinion. Welcome to YT and welcome TY.

| I would agree with Tiggerwit. He's probably getting used to his new routine. And he probably senses your feelings over the situation too and is reacting to them. He'll grow accustomed to it eventually. Make sure he gets plenty of play time though!

| I have no idea, but I'm thinking that once you were both home he should have been delighted. Sometimes they just don't feel well and it is nothing serious. Watch to make sure he eats someting, anything, even people food is better than nothing. And make sure he is pooping. |

| I hate to admit it but maybe it could be that I forgot to play with him, dont get me wrong the first thing I do when I come in t he door is sit on the floor for 10 min and play the I've missed you so much, please dont leave me again game, but I guess after I do that I get so caught up in house work or bills etc, I just take for granted that he will entertain himself. So I took your advice and got down on the floor and gave him a good 30 min play workout and he was his puppy self, but right after he ran right into his crate. Please tell me I did not get a "special EH" Yorkie.... Whatever he is I love him just the same......I will certainly keep my eye on him today, I dont work, but TJ has too, but all in all this looks very much mental more then physical. Even in the middle of the night I felt a little paw on my leg and a few little squeakes and out we went to the potty and he went just like a good boy, the same this AM and then he got in his bed and just was shaking like he was cold, but we went and got a toy and started playing and he was fine, thanks you guys for your input, any other input would be awsome, so keep them comming and I will keep up the update on my pup CHRISTINE and TY |

| If you don't have any Neurta-Cal on hand might want to get some at the pet store. If pup is not eating right, put some on your finger and feed it to him. This does give him the neutrents he's not getting when he doesn't eat right. The tube also comes in handy after shots, when they don't feel well. Lots of toys will help too when your not around. Someone here suggested to me to tie a knot in an old sock, when I first came to YT. Venus loved it! Lots of love and play time when you get home does help too. I'm sure others have more suggestions here too. |

| Just a quick note to say thanks and Ty is back to his usual pppy self, he never trulyquit eating and never stopped drinking, but I did put a few rice krispies in his bowl to get a jump start so he has ate half bowl of his dog food and I gave him some pineapple and he good to playing even when I am doing other things, we were really worried about him, he just had not been himself and I really must say he is one smart little guy . He rally knew how to show emotion at 11 weeks......the past 3hours have been good, not gone to his crate at all since noon and it is 10pm now and daddy will be home soon. So Ty will be happy as can be, his Aunt Mary came over and was very excited to see her and I guess what I am trying to say is I am glad my puppy is back. CHRISTINE |
