Two nights ago i hit my head on the fireplace mantle and cut my eye open... i was and am in a tremendous amount of pain.. and yesterday i found out that my ex bf (we dated for 3 years.. he broke up with me in july) has a new gf... so i have had a horrible past few days... cried a lot... and layla hasn't been eating and has been spending most of the days sleeping... do you think this is because of how i have been feeling the past couple of days?? should i be worried? i feel bad because i am so upset and in a lot of pain from the hit on the head that i just can't play with her like i usually do.. do you think she is mad at me? |

| I'm sorry that your heart was and is broken, and that you bonked your head! All I know is that I've had dogs all my life. Most of them were not sungglers - however, if I was really sad/upset, they instantly became snugglers. So yes, I think that they can sense something is wrong.

| Awwww hugs to you and Layla! I'm sure she can tell that her mommy is sad but I wouldn't be too worried about it. Your pain (physical and emotional) will pass and Layla will be back to normal. It's like when you were a kid and you knew something was wrong with one of your parents - you were bummed and wanted to help. And I'm really sorry to hear that your heart is hurting. Men can be just awful sometimes. (I recently went through a break up too.) But think of it this way, you're just one step closer to finding the guy that you're SUPPOSED to be with! So your ex bf did you a favor by ending things.

| yep My yorkies snuggle with me when I am sick, just make sure she doesnt do it too long and that its not more than that. Right now that is the last thing you need is for Layla to be sick. My heart goes out to you for your broken heart.

| Feel better!! And I think they can! Stump always just lays in bed with me and cuddles and cuddles and cuddles when I'm sick. And if I'm upset over something and crying he comes and licks my tears up. It's amazing how when no one else can, he can make me smile. |

| Logan is not a cuddler, but whenever something's wrong he's right there. Like last night i sprained my knee & he laid across my stomach the whole time. When my grandma was sick/dieing in the hospital he got very nervous. I think he knew that it was a stressful/sad time & he didn't know what to do to help. However during this time one of the sweetest things he did was for my grandpa. He was still just a puppy when my grandma was sick & we were all at the hospital, logan included, & logan laid by my grandpa for a couple hours & just let him pet him. This was so unlike him, he's a terrier & was still a pup, but i think he knew it was something my grandpa needed & something he could do to help, & I really think he did help.

| I am sorry to hear about your situation and OUCH! I hope you feel better soon and I am sure your dog feels your energy and thats why she is not her self. My dogs can read my energy as soon as I step into the house from work. |

| So sorry you have to deal with all this pain. I definitely believe dogs know when we are upset or hurt and they react to it. I know mine always have, even tho they were outside dogs. I had one that would get tears in his eyes. When he lost his mate, it was the most heartwrenching thing to see. He would sit on the porch and stare at the yard where they played with the saddest look I have ever seen. He would whimper and and tears would come out of his eyes. Once they bond with us, they share our feelings, good or bad. Once you are feeling better, Layla will feel better too,

| You really are having a rough time aren't you. Hope your head and heart mend quickly. One thing is bad enough but two is really painful! I have owned a lot of dogs in my life and almost all of them have been sensitive to my moods and health. I had surgery last year that required me to stay in bed for a couple of weeks even though I didn't feel bad and wasn't in much pain. My big (110 lb) shepherd would come over to me and lay his head on my chest for hours. He frequently refused to let me get up.....He seemed to know that I was supposed to stay put. At the same time my little shi tzu wouldn't leave my side. My husband said she was taking advantage of me sitting still and being home during the day but I think it was sympathy. |

| Yes I do believe they feel our pain. Buddy snuggles and jumps up and gives me endless kisses when he knows I am down. He just knows. I would guess it is because my attitude changes and he reacts to that. I am sorry you bumped your head as far as your heart goes it will take time. He just was not the right one. Hang in there and Mr. Right will show up eventually. |
