| How do you bathe your yorkie? I've been giving Jake a bath every week since I got him, and he really hates it. I have to say, he's getting better each time, but he shakes and whines, and I feel like I'm doing something mean to him. Most everything I'm reading says not to put water in the sink/tub. I've been bathing him in the sink since he's so tiny, it's easier that way. I put a couple inches of warm water in the sink, and I have a mat at the bottom of the sink so he doesn't slip. I hold onto him with one hand, and I wash him with the other. Do you put water in the sink/tub when you bathe your yorkie? I would think it would be colder for them with no water. I never run water while he's in there, as I don't want to scare him. I need one of those sprayer thingamies on my kitchen sink, that would make it easier. So, how many add water and how many don't? |

| I've done it either way. It just seems that the water gets so dirty when you leave it on, and the paws never get clean... So most of the time I don't leave the water in. I do run the water when she's in the tub or sink by the way, just not full blast.

| I don't add water. I just use the shower head. Abbie doesn't mind but Max "huddles" in the corner of the tub near the warm water coming out of the faucet. I'm not sure if he's cold, though... I know that he doesn't like being wet so that could be the issue. He doesn't take a long time to bathe, so it's not too traumatic for him (or at least it doesn't seem to be)

| I've done it both ways ad then let the water down for the final rinse. I don't use a lot of water because I doln't want my kitchen soaked. I think they're going to get chilly either way, so I just work quickly. |

| I bathe mine in the kitchen sink. I put a soft mat in the sink so they don't slip. I just use the sprayer on them. rinse and rinse and rinse until you think you got all the suds out , then rinse more. I dilute the shampoo with warm water so it don't add to their being cold. then i wrap them in a towel and hold them for a few minutes. I then go to the dryer and get a warm towel and wrap them before handing them to my husband to hold while I start on another one. they all get bathed the same day. by the time I finish with the last one, the first one is ready to be combed or brushed out. It is like an assembly line. Ahia is the one who won't lay to dry.. she does her own blow drying. runs around and air drys that way. I used to blow dry but I don't do that any more.

| I start Gracie's bath with a mat in the kitchen sink. I then make a bubble bath with some baby wash and warm water. In goes Gracie. She gets her face washed first with the baby wash water and a wash cloth. Then I use the shampoo and let the water drain while I hold onto her with one hand and rinse with the spayer on the faucet with the other hand. The conditioner goes on with the sink empy of water, then comes another rinse with the sprayer. She then gets cuddled in towels while I towel dry her, then I blow dry her. She really would rather not have a bath, but she definitely feels better after one and she knows she looks pretty and smells better too! She always has kisses for me after her blow dry is done!

| I bathe Pete in the bath tub. When he was a puppy I bathed him often so he would get used to it. Now he actually enjoys bath time, his favorite is the warm water poured over him with a cup (I dont use the sprayer i think the noise would startle him). Hopefully your baby will get used to it, when Pete was a puppy I would take it slowly; like put him in and not wash immediatly let him drink some water and check things out. Good Luck |

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Bathing Stedman I bathe Stedman in the kitchen sink. We have one of the really, really deep stainless steel ones (it's the deepest one that's on the market today) which is PERFECT because he can't jump out Well ok, actually he probably could because he is a little acrobat, lol...but mommy doesn't let him He is WAY too small to be bathed in the bathtub though, it would swallow him, lol. However I do add water. He gets very cold without any water in the sink. I add a few inches of warm water and he pretty much just stands there like a good little boy EXCEPT, he doesn't really appreciate being rinsed off....especially when it comes to his face

| I never put water in the tub, I just use the shower hose thing. Lexi and Candi don't mind bath time, but poor Tori hates bathes she acts like we are trying to drown her...

| I put her in the sink fill it up to her chest and use a cup to wet the rest of her body. Oh and for the head I use a damp wash clothe so I don't get water in her ears. |

| I fill the bath tub up about 3/4 of the way up his legs. I don't want him to freeze his little butt off, so I figure that might keep him a little warmer. I hold him with one hand, and scrub with the other. I wrap him in a towel and hold him for about 5 minutes after and that dries his body completely. I stopped using the hair dryer because it dried his hair out really bad. After I let him loose from the towel he run's around like a crazy dog and rubs his head on everything to try and dry it.. it's pretty funny!

| I wanted to get Tika use to the water in the bathtub so I got some rubber duckies (that squeak) and I let her play in the water with the toys before I bathed her. She absolutely loves it! The water only goes up to her "knees" and she chases the duckies in the water. Then I pull out the puppy shampoo - and although she doesn't like being soaped up - she doesn't fight the baths anymore.
