| I don't know if this is a problem or not... Ok - this may come across as weird or gross, but I figured if there was anyne who would understand it would be you guys! Tucker (4 months) keeps getting behind Biddy (year and 1/2) and humping her! She doesn't seem to mind (that alone is making me look at her different!! ), but I'm not sure if I should stop them or not! It's grossing me out but is this a natural thing that I should just let them do?? Biddy is fixed and Tuck will be too in couple of months, but in the meantime should I just let them do their thing???

YT Addict | When a dog humps someone or another dog it is a dominance (sp) issue. He is trying to be top dog. It depends if you want your girl to be the dominant dog or him. If it is her (since she was there first) then I wouldn't allow him to do it. With our Goldens we would have put the boy on his back and let her sniff him. He is in a submissive position and then she is in the dominant position. Hope this helps and that it makes sense....

| It's simply a dominance issue as MyGuyAlex said. My little guy only humps stuffed animals if I pretend the animal is a puppy and I pick it up and 'love on it" the same way I would love on my puppy. He then jumps up to grab the animal out of my arms and has his way with it. He is showing that he is dominant over the stuffed animal. ( I think he may be a little bit jealous too, LOL) Dominating the stuffed animals is the only time he displays the behavior, and he has done this since about 8 weeks old.

| Thanks! This is helpful. This makes so much sense, since we've been trying to give Biddy extra attention since we got Tucker (we didn't want her to feel neglected). Maybe Tucker senses this and tries to show that he is the dominant one. Thanks again!

| I thought this might be a cute story to share. When we got Skeeter, she was spayed and three years old. Our " special" one, Jackson would try to hump her from the side. It was quite a site. Eventually, he gave up and stopped doing it. |
