| Puppy Shower? Why is it than when we have human babies everyone showers the mommy with gifts and attention, but no one ever has 'puppy showers' ? To me, my puppy is my child and I want to celebrate it just like I would if I was having a baby! So I'm going to pitch this idea to my mom and see if she thinks I'm totally bananas (the party would have to be at her house so she HAS to be on board!) I just think it would be a great opportunity for all of our family and friends to come by and see the new pup and bring their own pets and children as well. It sounds like an excellent socialization opportunity for the pup too! If people want to bring a gift (which will be stressed is NOT necessary) it's super easy and cheap to pick up a squeeky toy or two. So what do you all think? I think I'm on to something here... |

| I think it sounds like a lot of fun! And me, the dark horse here.... just make sure your puppy has had all its shots and is old enough that too much handling and excitement won't make it sick. Sorry... just had to say it! lol

| I think it's a great idea. And it's great to start socialization early. I home your Mom goes for it! Keep us posted. And congrats on your new yorkie baby.

| My dog IS my baby and just as important as any human child is to someone else (in my own opinion). I don't plan on having any non-fur children. I think puppy showers are a great idea. suz |

| A friend and co-worker got a new puppy several years ago and another friend and I gave her a "Puppy Shower". We had the shower at work so unfortunately didn't get to meet the new puppy at the time. But, it was a lot of fun. Other co-workers that are not dog people, thought we were a little crazy but they had fun too. We bought a cake and presents for the new furbaby. Of course we ate the cake. So obvisously I love the ideal. |
