BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | I go to the Chiropractor also and on the board there they have pics of the doc helping dogs, and he dont even charge anything to do a dog! I have thought about taking my Husky there, but my Lillie is only 2lbs and she would be way to small. |

| im so glad that you all are interested!! i originally started going for myself... my kidneys were failing at 20 years old and the doctors gave up hope except for medication(as usual) and surgery... well i got into chiropractic and it changed my life. let me tell you a little about it... chiropractic as most people think is "back cracking" ( and sadly some "chiropractors" make lots of money off this misconception) what is really is , is an adjustment to your spine that allows all the injuries (subluxations as chiro's call them..and we get them everyday...just by living in this world that we all do ) to heal in PROPERLY. when we dont get them adjusted and working on their way to healing in properly....our body sends in scar tissue permantly after 7 days after the injury... and this means that our body now has an even harder time trying to heal this injury. now all of you are saying...... what does my back have to do with my body??? what do you think your spine is for???? your spine protects your nervous system.... the system that controls your ENTIRE BODY... yes your heart..lungs..liver..digestive system...EVERYTHING...and when you have an injury to your spine... it creates interference with your nervous system... and there you go... you get sick...or feel pain (which only 10% of your nerves transmit pain so this has no bearing on whether or not you are acutally injured) and your body is now not as healthy as it could be.... hopefully some of you have had lightbulbs go off and you grasp this notion. and i now that some of you are going... yeh whatever hippie freak thinks she knows what being healthy is.. let me ask you... if you could be as healthy as possible for yourself and live to the highest possible level would you?? of course!!! thats why im so excited about chiropractic because i see families come into the office and their lives have completely changed for the better. not only can families benefit from chiropractic....but also our babies!! our yorkies and other pets...my oscar was on the brink of death..the vet had given up all hope and told me to just take him home and let him die... i said no! and started him under chiropractic care.... now oscar is the healthiest puppy shes ever seen and she is now referring everyone that comes into the vets office over! she cant believe that chiropractic was right under her nose...even she's a patient now. i know some of you think that your dog is too small or this is too rough for your baby... my oscar doesnt even weigh 2 pounds yet and he was first adjusted at 1 pound so im quite sure that with the right chiropractor your baby will be more than safe... they will be healthier than when they walked into the office. i cant imagine my life without oscar and i know you cant even think about losing your puppy to bad health.. this is why im desperate to tell all of you what i know.... please just ask if you have ANY questions... and i will personally find a familiy wellness chiropractor for you and your puppy. thanks!!! |

| TumblnStar -- My Yorkie was a year old the 5th of September and has never had a sick day in his life - and has never been to a chiropractor. My Bichon is 5 years old now and has never had a sick day in his life and has never been to a chiropractor. I have worked in medicine for more than 35 years (closer to 50 - if I count the many times I had more than one job), and my husband was a physician --internist/radiologist. I know a lot of people who would die for their chiropractors and go to them constantly --- but I have never had to go to one. I have never had any medical problem (few actually) that couldn't be managed by MDs with traditional care. Don't get me wrong. I think chiropractors are great - for some people and for some problems. They really are - and recently (much more than in the past) MDs are realizing a lot of the good work that they can do. I work in Cardiology now - and I can tell you for sure that a lot of our patients spend a lot of time and money at a Chiropractor's office. They swear by them. But, I will have to admit - that most of our patients are going to them for their back and other orthopedic problems, which Chiropractors are most competent at treating. **** If you are truly aware of a chiropractor's training and abilities - you will realize that there certainly are a lot of health problems that they are especially qualified to treat...my doctors admit that without hesitation. BUT - a lot of other health problems are best left to physicians and specialists that are best trained to practice in those areas. ***** I hate to tell you that in medicine - we have had so many unfortunate experiences - people with health problems who didn't get the care they needed soon enough -- because they weren't seeing the specialists and doctors they should have been seeing.... and sadly when they finally did - it was too late to treat (usually cancer). So - in the end - I agree with you. Chiropractors can treat a lot of health problems. But by no means are they the cure-all for every health problem we have. We have to do all that we can to get a correct diagnosis and see what ever specialists can best treat these problems. And, "yes" - chiropractors can often do a lot. But they are "light years" away from having the knowledge, experience, and training that traditional medical doctors have.... I will certainly continue to use my vet as my first choice for care and treatment for my pets -- but, at the same time, I know she believes that chiropractic treatment is sometimes the way to go. | My chiropractor is amazing. She also does acupunctue which I've had her do for neck, back, sinuses, and tendonitis. Some of those times I had instant relief...other times it took til the next day, but I have faith in my chiropractor and I also work for her when her sec/receptionist is gone and it's so nice seeing people walking out of there, when they could hardly walk upon arrival. I have thought about chirocare for Maddie...just need to find someone around here that does it for dogs. I think my chiropractor would probably try...I'll have to talk to her about that. I call her wonder woman because she is amazing with helping people feel better! Just one question...when you get your dog adjusted, does the dog hold still and relax? I think my Maddie would be a basket case and scared and wouldn't hold still.

| I do not know if I would be able to be comfortable taking Bruce in to have his spine adjusted. It seems to risky. Having adjustments has made me feel better in the past, but have always been afraid when they adjust my neck...One bad move and that is it you never walk again...Yikes and on these little guys, I appreciate any advice on how to make Bruce his healthiest but I think for my own sake I better stick to my regular vet.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I can ASK you why you think your puppy is healthier than mine - but don't need to - mine have never been sick a day in their life your post should have a HUGE warning - MANY Chiropractitioners are NOT Qualified to do this kind of thing - People need to really research the background of any Chiro they choose - I have nothing against them and would love to find a really good one myself - but I have a friend here in houston who runs a clinic and believe me - many of them are not qualified to do the things they do - I'm really expecting to hear about someone getting hurt.....The GOOD ones are few and far between. |

| Hi tumblnstar, Thanks for sharing your experience with us! I bet youre absolutely elated that your Oscar is a healthy doggy now! I know that you meant well with your post and chiropractors sure can do a lot of good (my mom swears by hers), but red98vett is right - not all chiropractors are qualified. You seem to have really lucked out with yours!

| I'm not trying to be rude, just asking a question to the OP: Are you serious? If you are I am sorry, but looking back over your posts, EVERY one of them so far seems to be filled with this same message...almost like an advertisement or something? I don't know. Again, I'm not trying to doubt the benefits....just wondering if you/this are legit? |

| my name is mary sims and i live in lynchburg, virginia. i am a legit person... not an advertisement.. sorry to have led people to think that... i am just so excited and thrilled with what chiropractic has done for me and my body that i want to give other people the info that i have.. so that if they wish.. they can participate in something other than the regular medical/pharmacuetical route. after reading some of the posts you can definately see those who have a strong medical background and by no means did i mean to put down or take away from the traditional ideals. BUT i do believe that there are other options that i personally believe are more beneficial than drugs and surgery..etc.. and as for chiropractors not being qualified... they have 181 more credit hours in their doctorate program than medical doctors. the only thing that medical doctors have that chiropractors dont is pharmeceuticals. i know this is true for palmer chiropractic college. now saying that, there are alot of chiropractors ( just like there are medical doctors) who are out there and do not practice CORRECTLY or with the philosophy that they should... but i hope that people wouldnt be completely brain washed to think that chiropractors are ALL bad. i am VERY PICKY about my chiropractic care and when i am referring my friends and family i call every single one in their town and make sure that they are the type of chiropractor that believes in true chiropractic philosophy. you cant just open up the phone book and say ... that one looks good. would you do that with your medical doctor?? i hope not. now.... for the "cure all" questions... chiropractic does NOT CURE ANYTHING... what it does is allow your body to be at its highest potential so that you can let your own body do the healing. Do you think God created us without the ability to be able to heal ourselves? no. the problem is, is that we fill our bodies with so many toxins that are unnecessary that our body is so busy fighting those off, that it cant even worry about the other problems..like a common cold...or in my case, kidney failure. once i allowed my spine to heal in the best it could..my nervous system was allowed to do its job. Do i think that chiropractic should be the only health care? NO! There are most certainly times and most certainly people who ARE specialist...just like chiropractors with the spine and nervous system. if im in a car wreck and my arm is falling off... i wont say... TAKE ME TO THE CHIROPRACTOR! lol... im not ignorant. and there are times for medication... if your body is in such a state that it cannot survive without outside help. BUT! I do believe that if a mother is under chiropractic care while pregnant and her child is then adjusted from birth.. that child will not have to worry about sickness and disease like every one else... why do i believe that... because i see it everyday.. and it NEVER FAILES. yes they sometimes get a little cold or fever... but those things are natural and our bodies are not sick proof. and as for those people who have had or have heard of bad experiences with the chiropractor i am very very sorry.. it happens and unfortunately it seems like it happens alot more ( or is anounced more) with chiropractic. its an easy way to misinform people and make money... i see it everyday and its a shame. but what i do hope that people can understand is... chiropractic can help! its a simple philosophy and should not be twisted. my puppy is 1 pound 3 oz. and he gets adjusted everyday and it does not hurt..it does not scare him..and i hope that you can find a chiropractor that u trust and that will give you all the information that you need to make your own decision! whatever health care decision you decide.. its the best one...because you took the time to make it.. and you care enough about your baby to want what YOU think is best. do some research and find what you believe in. if anyone has ANY QUESTIONS... contact me... ill even give you my phone number. i always want to spread the news about what literally saved my life. thanks for reading. |
