| Why don't you want to take away his ability to reproduce? Are you planning to breed him. They have an increased risk of cancer if not neutered, they will be better behaved if neutered. The tendency to mark all over your house is less likely if they are neutered. They won't go berserk everytime they are around a female in heat. There is only 1 reason for not neutering, and that is fi you plan to breed him or show him. OK that was 2. |

| I'd neuter him, too. It depends on where you live what they charge. I know a vet that charges very little to neuter ($40) plus any blood work you want done. I also know a vet that charges above the ceiling prices. But ya know what? The best one is the one that doesn't charge so much. They have a huge practice and prefer to make spay/neuter affordable to encourage people to do it. Plus she raises yorkies, too. How much better can you get than that?

| The surgery is usually done around 6mths, but can sometimes be done a little earlier depending on your vet and your puppy. I STRONGLY recommend having your dog neutered.

| I am a staunch advocate for neutering! Hi, I recently aquired a 3 yo UNneutered male. He just marked everywhere and smelled a lot of the time. I had to wear belly bands on him. Neutering made him like a "new man" lol He no longer marks and I don't have to mess with the bands anymore. I know healthwise for him it was the right decision and for my house....well it definitely was!
