| green eye not silky coat ive seen a few things on here about if you shine a light in to your yorkies eyes and it makes there eyes green then they will have a silky coat. well thats not true you cant tell if they will have a silky coat by doing that. dogs of all breeds will reflect a green glowing light as they have whats called a tapetum, its a mirror like membrane that reflects light that has already passed through the retina a second time. some dogs dont have a tapetum so will reflect back a red glow like a man or woman which are the blood vessels in the eye. puppys reflect back blue as there eyes are not fully developed yet as like babies that are born with blue eyes that might later change colour. you can find out more by going on google and putting in www.animaleyecare.com/index.htm or www.about.com then put the words animal eyes in the seach box and read more about it.

| I never knew that. My favorite pic of Ginger when she was a puppy, her eyes look blue, and NOW they definitely glow green. I learn something new everyday!

| Ture or not...my boyz eyes shine green/turquoise and they both have managable, soft, silky coats. Coincidence or maybe they just got lucky? |

| Just 2 Yorkies here and I don't think I should go bother the mastiff across the street at this time of night to shine a flashlight in his eyes...he might not like it |

| maybe a myth about silky vs cotton... I have both a cotton (sami) and (tilly) silky but I must say tillys eyes always shows green no matter what position she is in.. now sami is questionable ... see his photo below.. red & green eyes and this is just about all his photos but mostly they are deep red so would you say he is a little of both...Noooo but maybe there is some truth in this post

| to be honest i thought everyone knew dogs cats foxes and animals like that have reflected eyes, its about hunting in the dark and how the animals eyes work not about what there coats like.
