| Please help- Hey everyone- I posted AWHILE back about Oliver having a puss filled bump (or two) on the back of his neck and wondered if anyone had ever had a similar experience. This was back in Decemeber, I took him to the vet (who couldn't figure it out) and she treated it. Well....... it's back!!! And I'm so upset right now. I took him in yesterday to be groomed and I paid to have the vet take a look. After examining him for 2 minutes she said she didn't knwo what it was and" SHE even had some bumps on HER inner thigh and SHE got bit when SHE went out to go potty". First of all LADY, my dog is a BOY an dyou should know this when you looked at HIS innerthigh.... Anyways, later that evening when I settled in I noticed the HUGE bumbs on his neck (where I don't think she looked because he has a hankie wrapped around it after he was groomed) and now (this morning) they are bleeding because he has scratched them so much. SAME THING THAT HAPPENED BACK IN DEC. and the vet won't see him today. Has anyone ever had this happen? Sorry for the length, I'm just so upset with this vet. I am trying to find another one to take Ollie to as we speak. I'm so frustrated

| Oh gosh hun, I have never seen this. Vet sounds like an idiot though and you are making a good choice to get another. What did they give you back in Dec to treat it? Did it work? Maybe your baby is having an alergic reaction to something? hmmmm....have you changed laundry soap or what does the groomer wash him with? I dunno hun, I wish I could be of more help. Im sure there is a good vet out there in your area that will help you out. Good Luck.

| the other vet (in davis, CA where i go to school) gave him antibiotics and topical ointment. Charged me an arm and a leg... BUT at least he got better. She didn't knwo what it was either... But I'm at my mom's house right now. I'm wondering if I should find a new vet here or wait until this evening and go back up to Davis and take him to the old vet???

| I'm so sorry you are going thru this. Why wouldn't your old vet try to figure out what had caused the bumps instead of just sending you home with some multi-ppurpose drugs. If the bumps are pus filled, then there is an infection. So what is causing the infection??? I think I'd see a different vet. I hate when vets (or dr's for that matter) say "I don't know what it is, but take this.") DUH. If you don't know what it is, then why prescribe something that might not work. In the mean time, the patient (fur or skin) may suffer even more if the meds don't work. Sorry, it makes me mad and it happens all the time. There may be something you can do to take care of it on you own or even keep it from happening if the vet would try to find out what it is. Again, I'd ask a different vet. Good luck. I hope this one can do the right thing and I hope Oliver starts feeling better.

| thanks everyone! Oliver is 10 months old. The bumps are still there but I have put some anti-itch cream on it. The vet cannot see him until Monday so I'm going to try to treat it with the topical ointment. If it is still present, or worse, then I will be sure to keep my appointment with the vet Monday Morning. I have taken him to two vets and neither know what it is. Last time it happened they did a skin scrape and other visual tests. Apparently, they had just never seen it before...? Anyways... I will be sure to keep everyone updated. The bumps seem to be smaller now and after keeping close watch on him and NOT letting him itch at all things have gone down a bit. Thank you everyone,
