| May have to find a new home For Rosie. Rocco has been getting aggressive with her,He actually made her yelp yesterday and today. I'm so afraid he is going to hurt her,she is so tiny compared to him. She doesn't have a mean spirit in her whole body, very sweet nature. For those of you who Don't know I have only had her about 5 weeks. I have tried giving Rocco extra attention, treating him first, loving him first. I really don't know what else to do. I hate the thought of rehoming, but I also don't want this behavior to continue and having her hurt. Any advice? Last edited by Shadow; 09-15-2006 at 11:37 AM. |

| Oh my that is a tough one. I would try a little bit more. Just have them around eachother when you are able to watch them and keep them seperated when you're not able to watch them. I know you've prob done everthing and feel like giving up...but please give it a chance & time. How old are they? |

| I would consult with a trainer. You can also check out the Dog Whisperes website. He deals with agression issues, and will help you esablish the leadership role in you "pack". http://www.dogchannel.com/experts/ce...aspx?WT.srch=1 |

| Train the aggressive dog not to be. If you get rid of her he is being the pack leader when you in fact are the leader. I wouldn't get rid of her at all.

| I have 4 yorkies - but up until 1 1/2 years ago, I only had two. My third baby is a Rocco too and my oldest boy Maxx DID NOT like him at first. I mean Maxx would growl and be real nasty to him but after 3 months or so, they finally got along. Now they love each other and play all the time. Now I have a brand new baby, Harley. Rocco loves him and even Evey my girl loves him but Maxx... well he's just a grumpy little guy and doesn't want to have a thing to do with him- just like he did with Rocco. Give it time - it does work but it takes time and 5 weeks just isnt long enough. |

| I don't know if this will help, but when we brought home our new lab (he was 99lbs and Mojo was about 5lbs)........Mojo and him just did not get along..... So, we had our lab neutered to calm him down alittle bit - that really helped A LOT!! Anytime that one of them would act up, we got on to them right then. If our lab was in the house and he growled at Mojo, he was in trouble right then and he was put outside in his pen. After awhile, you can bet that he would rather be in the cool house on his fluffy blanket with us, then outside in his lonely pen. The same with Mojo....if he got after our lab, he got in trouble right then and put in his room. We don't yell at them......we speak really softly to them and it seems to help to.....yelling just seems to make everyone more edgy and more excited. I really didn't seem to take long for them to start getting along, but I had to show "who was the BOSS" from the beginning - and I am the type of person who hates to get on to anything..........But anyway, give it some time and I think with some home training they will both be buddies before too long!

| IMO the cost of trainer is nothing compared to the cost in tears and heartache of having to re-home your baby girl. BUT if you do decide it's the right thing I'm sure you can find a loving family here on YT. Good luck!
