| What a Trooper!!! Mia got spayed and had 5 teeth pulled yesterday... We left her at the Vets around 9am (after 45 minutes with the Dr), went to have breakfast, then home to wait for the call. Hubby was pacing - I was trying to clean. The call came a little after 11am with the Dr wanting to know if hubby wanted to talk to Mia - she was already trying to lift her head up!!! We called back at 2:30 to see how she was doing - they said great, and that we could pick her up at 4pm. Gez.... hubby liked to drag me out at 3:15 so we wouldn't be late! We only live about 15 minutes away! lol They laughed at me when I came in with Mia's bed and blanket. But when we had been there a couple of weeks ago this other couple were picking up their 3.5 pound Yorkie in a cardboard box!!!! On no, not our baby! Anyway I rode in the back seat (which is a first!) so that I could hold her in the bed. She slept for about 2 hours and then was "up and at 'em"! OMG, I was sooo worried, following her around unsnapping the onesie, then snapping it again so that she wouldn't lick at it. (BTW - they did send us home with one of those cones and she was having NO part of it! She laid on the floor with her tiny paws on it and wouldn't move! We didn't give her any water for the first 2 hrs - like Dr said, but after that.... she drank from one of those dripping water things and then went over to her bowl and proceeded to INHALE the 1/4 cup of dry dog food! She has NEVER eaten a bowl of dry dog food at one standing in her entire life! What in the world got into this girl? Then I was afraid she was going to vomit - so we were on "puke watch". Thank God (as I did pray - alot) she is fine and pretty much herself. The only thing she hasn't done - or had to do - is bark! Thanks to everyone who contributes here. It really helped having information ahead of time.

| Oh Thank You Gina! Did you see I got "one" picture up in the avator thing? I'm still working on it tho. I kept thinking how you said you like to see who you're talking to. I'll work on getting mine up... but can I use one when I was younger? Like maybe 20 years ago???? None of the current ones are very pleasing to the eyes!!

Has she eaten? Dr gave us pain meds and antibiotic for teeth - did Lady have any teeth pulled? I was surprised when Mia wanted to gnaw on this round thing we got her at the Healthy Tails store. But she seems ok - no blood anywhere.

I gave Lady a little bit of food and water last night and she ate breakfast this morning......No she didn't have any teeth pulled...I got lucky Lady had already lost all her baby teeth (LOL...I have a nice collection of them)....they did not send her home with any pain meds...though she didn't seem to be in any pain last night....just very tired.....I felt horrible leaving her yesterday....I am so glad this is all over with now.... | |
