| Female Question! Sorry if this is in the wrong section but I have a question about spaying my female yorkie. I just got her about 3 weeks ago and she is 8 months old. I need to get her spayed but I was wondering if I should give her a little more time to adjust to her new home before I do so? Also I do not want to wait too long. She has not had a heat yet and I would rather not have to deal with that especially since I have a male Yorkie too even though he is neutered. About what age will she do this if any one knows? She is 8 months old now and weights 3 pounds if that. Thanks guys!

| I'd go ahead and do it. Her first heat could be just around the corner and you don't want to torture poor Murphy.

| We had Sara spayed the week after we got her, and she was 6 months old. The vet told us that she would bond even more quickly with us, because we would be nurturing her after the spaying. We had no problems, and Sara is very well adjusted. Good luck |
