| New to the Yorkie World Hi, My name is Robin and i am getting my first yorkie this weekend, i think... His name is Tater Tot and he is just a baby and i'm not sure he is ready to come home just yet, he was born on July 2. Any suggestions on how to welcome my new baby home?? I also have a question, i have a couple of cats and i worry that that won't adjust well to each other. Does anyone else have cats in their home with their babies? |

| Welcome to YT and more importantly Welcome to the wonderful world of being a YORKIE MOM A couple of suggestions are to make sure that you have nutrical (you can get that from most pet stores). Since Yorkies are small you need to make sure they eat. I don't have a cat but I do have a 80lb boxer and Georgie and Coco get along GREAT Good luck can't wait to see pics

| Thanks so much for the warm welcome. And i will buy some of the nutrical, he went to the vet last week and he weighs only a pound and 3 oz. so he is a tiny baby. I'm not sure he is ready to come home yet, what do you think? |

| Hi Robin and welcome to YT-I just got my furbaby 2-1/2 weeks ago and I have a cat that is as big as a bobcat. At first she hissed and gave amberlynn a swat on the head to let her know who runs the house. but now they chase each other around. It took about a week of hissing and spitting and amberlynn thinking she was as big as a doberman to get the situation right. Now the cat comes in and looks for her. She is about 6 years old and the puppy is going to keep her young. Good Luck!! This site is awesome. They have answered so many questions, given me so much good advice and i come back everyday!! Thanks everyone Laurie

You're welcome I would give him as much time so you feel comfortable. Georgie came home at 10 weeks and weighed 1lb exactly. Next time I will definitely wait for 12 weeks.

| Welcome to YT. You will love it! I got Adie at 7 weeks and she should have stayed with the breeder till she was 12 weeks. She got sick and I thought she was going to die. A couple of thousand dollars later she was fine. This group is the best. So any advice you need you will get here. I love them! They really helped me through Adie's dark days. Adie is a strong healthy mischievous 15.5 weeks old now. |

| I have a cranky-pants cat that would terrorize our LAB, and I just knew he would HATE the yorkies. We STILL can't believe it, but he actually enjoys them, and will often initiate play himself! Welcome, and good luck!

| Being that you're new to Yorkies and if I'm reading this correctly the baby is not even 2 months yet? I would definitely wait until your baby is a little older. They should be with Momma until they are atleast 12 weeks if possible.. |

| Welcome to YT and congrats on your new little furbaby!! I got my second yorkie this weekend...well my first one is a yorkie/bichon. Anyhow Reece was born July 1st and is 8 weeks old. He is just over a pound too and is doing great!! If I may suggest...try a sample bag of Royal Canin Puppy Mini..they are just the right size for these little ones and Reece seems to love it. I also give him about a tablespoon or so of a premium can food once a day. I didnt have to use the nutrical for either of my babies so I guess I was lucky..but it is supposed to be really good if they arent eating well. Please make sure to post lots of pictures when your furbaby comes home!! Dawn |

| Seeing as it is your first yorkie, I would definitely wait till he is 12 weeks. You have no idea how many posts we get where they lost their babies within the first 3 days because they got them too young. At 12 weeks you will have a happy playful little guy. Welcom to YT. |
