| Is my hubby crazy or should I be worried?? My hubby pointed out that you can fill my Bella's ribs... I really dont remember ever filling my Bunny's ribs when she was a puppy... Bella is about 3.5lb ,about 7 months going on 8 and has a pot belly on her... but I can fill her ribs! My hubby thinks its worms and she is not eating enough..but she always eats her dog food when I feed her and I give her a little bit of what ever I am eating through the day.... I just gave her deworming pill about 8 to 9 weeks ago (which the pill last for 6 weeks) and I dont see any worms in her stool... Is my hubby crazy or should I be worried? | Hi. You might not see any worms in her stool even if she is carrying them. If I were you I'd worm and see if it makes a difference! Worming treatment doesn't cost a lot - even if you get a good one like drontal. Best of luck! Hope your little baby is well soon.

| Do you guys have heartworms in your country? I know when they have heartworms, their stomachs are full, but the worms cause a breakdown in muscle mass, especially along their backs and hips. |

| When we got Piper not only could you feel her ribs, you could see them.. She ended up having Giardia, which causes anorexia. She ate but very little, once cured, she's a little piggy. She went from 1.3 lbs to 3 lbs in 2 weeks. She goes in Fri for more shots. She is 5 months, & I think she is up to 6 lbs. |

| Heartworms is in the heart . If the little one had heartworms she wouldn't eat at all and die very fast. Here is a picture of damaged heart . Excuse if the picture is very gross . |

| Isn't it possible that there is nothing wrong at all and the puppy is perfectly healthy? If she's eating and behaving as normal and she has been dewormed (and you don't see any signs of worms) she may just have a chubby belly. You SHOULD be able to feel her ribs SLIGHTLY (not see them) - that means she is at a healthy weight. If you couldn't feel her ribs at all she would be considered overweight. My Ruthie gets a little pudgy belly after she eats and in general it is much rounder than Oscar's. If you're concerned, a visit with your vet wouldn't hurt (take a stool sample to be tested as well). Good luck!

| goodluck with your baby. I would just let the vet ck it when I took her back or if I was worried I would get an appt asap and take her.

| Definitely take a stool sample to the Vet and have it checked. That would ease your mind a bit!!

| Wait a minute, I think everyone here should be able to "feel" their yorkie's ribs if you rub across them. As long as you don't see them you are fine. If she's behaving normally and just had a dewormer then she is fine. I usually take up for husbands because I am one but yes, he may be slight bit crazy on this one If it would ease your mind though go to the vet but it doesn't sound like you need to.

| Pita was like that until I had her spayed. I couldn't keep weight on her for anything and she was wormed and well fed. She got spayed in June and I could feel all of her ribs but now you can feel her ribs but there is a layer of fat over them. I don't know if this is what it is with your dog, but i think the hormones were bringin Pita down. She also got livelier and more playful after her spay.

| Here are a few pix of her.. I am not german I am from Tx . Hubby is in the military and we got orders to move over here for 3 yrs. I have both of my girls on heart worm + and even if I was from germany, they have heart worm pills here too! I can fill her ribs but she dose not look skinny to me. I gave her a bath a few min ago and when she was all wet, she didnt look skinny but didnt look fat either... Oh and She plays and acts like she aways dose... And to top it off my hubby was soo worried that she was starving, he let her eat a half a can of WET dog food now her stool is runny! I got all over him for that. I know his heart was in the right place but a half a can I only give her two teaspoon with her heard food. I think he is so worried bc he only see's them ever other 4 days (he works 4 and is off 4) The vet gave her a deworming pill 8 or 9 weeks ago and said she should be good and if I see any more in her stool after 6 weeks, then bring her back in...But I DONT see any more in her stool, so I thought the pill did the job, right?
