| Its like a material band that you place 1/2 of a maxi pad in. When the pad gets wet, change it.

| "Belly Bands are a great way to potty train or use for an incontinent boy. Also helps as an anti-breeding aid. There a must if your planning to travel with him. The boys love to "mark" a new spot at someone else's home. Your family and friends will appreciate that you have a Kennel Komforts Belly Band on your male dog. Our Belly Bands are made from cotton/poly fabric with fun prints and lined with a solid coordinating fabric. Belly Bands can be worn reversed. The crotch has an elastic, "NEW CUP SHAPED", gathered middle to hold all his plumbing. We recommend a maxi day pad if he's a spotter, incontinent pad if he's a soaker. Belly Bands have a "NEW" adjustable 4 inch Velcro open/closer that over locks over his back which makes it nearly impossible for him to remove. NEW IMPROVED STYLE!!! Now with extra wide penis coverage and a 4" velcro closure. For the boys, a girth band that is used as a potty training aid, anti-breeding aid or for incontinence. Comes in fun colors and prints. * Helpful hint. Its best to have several Belly Bands on hand for wearing and laundry. "Never let him be without." Also try the next size larger when your dog's measurement is borderline."

| I make Bellybands with or without a plastic barrier. Pads keep the males drier but makes it harder to potty train. Without the pads they do not like the wetness against the skin so are less likely to pee in them while wearing them. My are made with cotton print outside, plastic in the center and fleece inside. also a link to bands http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=47697 post # 3, 6 and 10. |

| Could NEVER live without belly bands. Tye will be 4 in December and has been potty trained, but could pee on everything in the state and then pee in the house "just because". Belly bands have saved his life and ours too. He wears one all the time. Dexter only wore one when we would be away a few hours or at night as he started getting older. He never cared about marking but Tye can't seem to stop. I buy the Poise pads for adults that have urinary problems and use them in his since he likes to pee in it so much. Tried the small pads but he soaked the belly band all the time. Just easier to use the larger pads, even though he is only 2 lbs. I have only had the kids that are denim from PetsMart but will be ordered some online this week. They are cute and less expensive.

| These dogs are "little" So - I have two or three dozen washcloths. I just fold one diagonally - wrap it snuggly around my little guy's tummy and pin it with a diaper pin. I keep an eye on him and change them as soon as they are the least bit damp. Then these washclothes go into the washing machine with the rest of my laundry. **** The secret is to wrap them very snuggly - you learn that they loosen up very quickly - as soon as the dog is up and moving around.... --------------- I have had trouble with the ones that I have purchased. They don't stay on well - and they cost too much - if you want a lot of them. Good luck - Carol Jean |

| My guy is only 2 lbs but I don't want to keep washing wash clothes. I just use the pads in the belly band. The bands you buy at PetsMart have elastic around the bottom that keeps them in place. I am ordering some online from someone here, they don't have elastic but I am going to give them a try - I am also checking into my mom making some for Tye. She is close, that way if I find I need elastic she can do them for me once she figures it out. Just me, but I would rather pay for the band and pads than wash the clothes. Tye marks alot and I wouldn't be able to keep up with the washing LOL

| Washing washcloths is no big deal. I suppose I throw four or five small washcloths in the wash a day.... This is by far the least expensive and easiest way for me to go. It certainly is no extra work at all. If I take my dog outside every two hours or so -- he rarely pees in the house. I use the washcloths more in the evenings when I let him have run of the house, while I'm working on the computer. Seems like he pees more at night - plus sometimes working, I don't get him out as often as I should. And - he always wears one overnight - but it is almost always dry in the morning. **** He has two or three dozen washcloths - because I bought three packs at Walmart (with a dozen in each pack). **** I have purchased bellybands - and I don't think they work as well as the washcloths. (I could even a mini pad inside the washcloth - if I wanted - it just hasn't been necessary.) **** I also take washcloths with me when we visit someone else's house. For sure - I don't want him peeing on anyone else's carpet. And don't think they don't appreciate this. But, again as he has gotten older, he pees less often and can usually be taken outside enough to take care of this problem. Carol Jean |

| We have "markers" in the household as well and I started using belly bands. I will never be without them again! I plan on ordering very tiny ones before we get out next puppy so he will have them for times when he is allowed to run in the house free for a bit. I use a full sized ultra thin maxi but my dogs aren't real tiny (7 & 8 pounds for the yorkies and 14 pounds for the doxie). They are easy to wash by hand in between loads of laundry. Be sure to have several on hand. Also, it may take him a little while to stop going in them regularly, but before long you will be glad to see long periods in between wet pads! |
