| Coyote We had a visit from a large coyote last night. Molly was in the bedroom giving birth, when we heard Grace and Mo barking uncontrollably. We have a dog door connected to our patio door and a deck enclosed by chain link fence. I went to investigate and low and behold there stood a big coyote just on the other side of the fence. Of course, Grace wasn't about to give in and I was so afraid because the coyote didn't seem to be bothered by the continual barking and me yelling for Tim to hurry with the gun. I grabbed Mo by the scruff of the neck (something I've never done before) and screamed to Grace to get inside. Tim came running not knowing what he was going to find and got one shot off. He missed, and then the coyote ran in the pasture and started chasing the horses. Tim finally ran it off with the 4-wheeler. I couldn't believe it got so close to all of us, especially with all the commotion. We have lots of rabbits this spring and it was probably just coming down for one of them....I don't think it was rabid. Now I'm afraid to let the dogs out on the deck unsupervised. By the way, Molly had one little girl and one little boy. Mommy and babies are doing fine, I'll get pictures soon. They are just adorable. Boy was it a long night. www.simplyyorkies.com

| that is really scary, we live in Arizona and the other night we saw 2 coyotes, Luckily they arent like mountain lions and cant jump over our brick fence but just to think that they are around is freaky. We never leave our dogs unsupervised (also because we have a pool) |

| We have gobs of coyote's around us, they wake us up at night and Schatzie acts like "oohhh I better not bark at them, they sound mean!".... Infact our cat has been missing for over 2 weeks now, I am thinking it was probably a coyote as they too come up right into our yard. Brave wild things, let me tell ya. I am glad there was nothing serious or injuries with your coyote visitors Mograceliz and that all turned out ok. Congrats on the newbies, yeah yeah!! Way to go Molly!

| We have coyotes too! It scares me to death. I let my big dogs out in the fenced yard but never the little guys. I think they can jump over fences when they are really hungry. We have a den of them across the street from us and we see them all the time. I actually saved my cat from one when we first moved here 18 months ago. She is an indoor cat but somehow she got out without us knowing and I was watching TV in my bedroom at 9:30 at night when something slammed into the outside door. I went and turned on the light and there in front of me was a coyote with my gray furball of a cat in it's mouth. I opened the door and screamed "NOOOOOOOO" as loud as I could. He ran off and a second later my cat came running back. How she got loose I will never know but I screamed for my family and my daughter opened another door and the cat ran in and to the back of the house up into my son's box spring mattress. She only had one little cut on her lip. The coyote continued to stand there even when I threw rocks at him!! It's really eery! I worry when my 17 yr old daughter runs because sometimes there are 4 or more together and I think they could attack her. I got her some pepper spray! |

| Wow!! I am SO glad to hear that everyone is okay after that scare. When I was in high school our cat was attacked by a coyote, it was so sad Congratulations on the puppies! Sounds like it was an exciting night for everyone!

| That's so scary! My husband's grandfather says he sees them standing on the walls in his community, so don't be too sure about them not being able to jump over. I am glad everyone was okay! And congrats on the babies! I can't wait to see pics! |

| We have coyotes too! I would never trust them and wouldn't leave my pup outside alone after dark. I have heard that they will hunt in a pack. One will approach a dog and act like it's going to play and then the others will pounce on it. My husband and I have been awakened out of a dead sleep several times with coyotes howling outside. It is the ugliest, eeriest sound you ever heard!! MoGraceLiz, congrats on Molly's puppies. Hope mom and babies are doing well. Post pix when you can.

| i've been really close to wild coyote's while taking my old golden out for walks in teh early morning........ they are more afraid of you then anything, I havent heard of any coyotes attacking anything more than a cat in my area..... but hey, i live in a different location and i might just have the "peaceful" and "dont bother anyone" coyotes |

| First, congrats on the new babies! I bet she's a proud momma!!! LOL! I cant' wait to see pictures. Coyotes would terrify me if I ever let Sully go outside unsupervised (unleashed) especially at night. My husband and I often are woken in the middle of the night boy their howling. We don't really live out in the country, but almost....but even so, lots of howling sometimes...it's spooky. I'm tellin' ya....it's the full moon! LOL.
