| Keep giving her fluids, every couple of hours. Also if she's not eating, mix up some dog food (meat) in with some Pedia light in a blender and feed her that via dropper or syringe (without a needle, just in the mouth) I would also mix up his nutrical in with Pedia light also. Just keep feeding her fluids, and follow any advice the vet has to give. I wish you all the best, and keep us informed. *hugs* |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I agree with the fluids but you HAVE to get that baby to eat something asap !!! and try some boiled chicken & a little white rice and hand feed her - she needs to eat and stay hydrated. Good luck !! |

BANNED FOR NOT MAILING PRODUCTS PURCHASED | have you contacted the breeder? Did you check the breeders references? When my baby had diarreah I bought her 1 st stage of baby food "chicken" make sure it's the 1st stage and has no onion powder in it, all you want is chicken and water in it, it has some starch and thats fine, it just helps thicken it. then I got the whole grain rice and madr the rice up and then mixed a little rice with the chicken, give her maybe 1tsp to start out with and see if she can keep that down. I sure hope your sweeties gets better for you! very good luck and sending you positive thoughts and prayers! |

| Besides getting her to eat and keeping her hydrated, double check the dosage of Albon. It might be too much for her tinier body. We'll keep her in our prayers.

| when I got Maggie. Of course I took her to the vet the next day for health ck up in case something was wrong and I had to take her back. She had coccidia too. So we treated her for 5 days with albon. She took the last of it on Friday and Sunday she suddenly had diarreah and was passing blood in it and once it was all blood. So on monday I took her back to the vet. He said she had a bad case of it and put her on antibiotics for 10 days and another 10 days of stronger albon and had me give her nutrical couple times a day. Now she is fine and has energy to spare. When I took her back last Friday she cked negative for it and we've had no more problems. I'm sorry you're going thru this but did your vet give her any antibiotics? And how old is your puppy?

| Lacy was really sick too when I brought her home and the vet kept telling me there was nothing he could do for her. I fed her baby food chicken mixed with Pedialyte by a dropper every hour around the clock. I also gave her Nutrical 4 or 5 times a day. Nutridrops are faster acting and longer lasting and less likely to cause diarrhea if you can find it. It sounds like you are able to give her fluids subcutaneously (with a needle under the skin) on your own which is good. At least you can prevent dehydration even with the diarrhea and vomiting. What fluids are you administering and how often? Hope everything is fine, please update, and let us know how you're baby is doing. |

| NUTRI-DROPS is a far better supplement to have on hand for emergencies, not that NutriCal doesn't have it place, but REMEMBER a healthy puppy never needs it. Seacure is another excellent product. http://www.dog-bows.com/cgi-bin/TheF...0BL&category=2 I get upset every time someone calls me about a sick puppy they got from a low life breeder and was instructed to give NutriCal daily. That tells me it was sick to begin with and its body can't regulate its sugar levels like a well cared for puppy does. Where is the "Breeder" !!!!!!!!! I hope it wasn't from one of the many that sell on forums like this and then meet you in a parking lot. No, they don't want you at their home, they want to sell puppies in the paper and on Forums like this. Cynthia

Your advice, coming from a knowledgeable breeder, is appreciated; but please don't take jabs at people who are trying to help each other grow as owners and mommies.

| I didn't know telling her about a better product was "Taking a Jab". I guess telling you about all the calls I get about people getting sick puppies, or ones that were just to young is also taking a Jab, Oh well, if the shoe fits.
