shot Buddy had his distemper shot today. He is so sick tonight. This happened before with his rabies, etc. He is totally listless, feels feverish, won't eat or drink. I gave him some honey water with a syringe a couple of times, but he feels so bad. Anyone else have this problem when their baby gets a shot? What do you do? Also, he was groomed today. I asked for a puppy cut and I think she cut his body and legs too short. He looks so skinny and his legs look too long. In other words, he looks silly. I know it will grow, but the first time I had him groomed, {same place, different groomer} he was adorable. That groomer has since left, darn. Now I will have to find a different groomer. I hate to do that, since this place is at the vet's office and it is very convenient, as we live out in the sticks and it is hard to find groomer's. Oh well. He is still my baby and his hair will grow, I hope.

Lucy did the same thing after her shots. It was very sad. I could not even touch her without her crying in discomfort. She was about 2 pounds at the time and really no body fat at all. She was recovered by the next day, I just kept my eye on her the first day, I could not hold or carry her due to pain. gigi

Mine went through the same thing. Just keep him comfortable and alot of baby talk works well I would put mine in their sleeping areas and just let them rest. He will be back to normal tomorrow.

I took him out and he peed, so I think he has had sufficient water. He seemed a little perkier when I brought him in, so I gave him his supper again. He ate it all, and then went back in his carrier and went back to sleep.

i dread bringing Layla for hers shots because she has the same reaction. How much does your pup weigh?? layla is a little over 2 1/2 lbs so the shots just knock her out.. i had no idea that she gets the same dose of meds as say a great dane.. no wonder our little guys are out cold for the day... i just spoiled her more and kept a close eye on her breathing... i try and get her done early in the morning so i have all day to make sure she is ok. Hope your little one feels better soon! nothing sadder than a sick yorkie!

My guy weighed 4 pounds, 15 oz. This AM when I took him in. He is 7 months old. I didn't know he was so skinny until the groomer cut him so short. I feel so bad for him. He is doing a bit better tonight. I think he had that shot this am. Whoops, he just took off after "his" cat. I guess he is feeling better. lOL. Whew, I worry so much everytime he has a shot. He gets so sick. But, the fact that he is now chasing his cat is a good sign. I have two cats, but only one belongs to him. The other one would like to kill him and he leaves him alone. lol. Thanks to all who answered. I appreciate it. It helps to know other people have the same problems.
