| New doggie door I just finished installing a new storm door with a doggie door in it. I was going to order one with the doggie door already installed, but I saved myself $100 by installing it myself. The guys already know how to use it and they think it's great fun to be able to run in and out. |

| Did you guys see the new electronic one? It only opens to an animal who is wearing the sensar on it's collar. Mine don't wear a collar usually unless we are going out for ID purposes, when we are walking we use a harness BUT we have posum & rabbits & raccoon in my area. I was thinking of this one so I didn't have an visitors in the house

| JeanieK That's pretty impressive that you did it yourself! We'd love to see a pic of your handiwork! A question about dog doors...this probably seems stupid, but.. Do any of you guys have cats??? I've thought about a dog door, but am afraid I'd lose my cat.

| We put one in by our slider and now Chico knows to "go potty outside". H makes sure I'm watching through the door, though. They sure catch on fast, don't they? |

I have cats, but they are indoor outdoor cats, so I hope they learn to use the door too. they use one to go into the utility room where their food and litter box is, so I'm guessing they will get the hang of this one too.

They all have a way to latch them so at night you don't get unwanted visitors. We also have a motion senor light by the door so any movement would turn the light on and frighten the animals away. Well except for the deer. They appreciate the light so they can see if they missed any of my flowers. The electronic ones sound pretty cool though.

| I have a question about doggy doors. How do you keep other animals from coming in? We have alot of wildlife, and I'd be worried that a stray cat or racoon would come in. Or even worse, a skunk! |

The electronic doors work by a sensor. You attach this charm to your collar and when they stand by the door it opens it, then instantly closes. I had liked that idea because I live along and I didn't want any critters coming in or out. I am replacing my big picture window in a few months with a patio sliding door, and I am going to install the electronic one in the glass of the sliding panel. I took a quick look to see which company I saw it at, I was only at 2 or 3 in the last 2 weeks, so it was either where I bought my Murphy Pet Bed or the stroller. I am so drained today, give me a day and I will look for the name of the site, thanks
