| question about walking your yorkie? Royce turned 10 months old and weights 3.5 pounds . I would like to know how many minutes of walking in the morning would be enough for him so that he is tired and sleeps when i go to work ? In the evening when i come back from work i take him out for 1 hour shopping...etc |

| I would say that depends on the energy level of YOUR yorkie. If he has a high energy level, I would say that 30 minutes might wear him down. If he is more laid back, then maybe it wouldn't take as much exercise. Experiment with it when you are going to be home for the day, so that you can see how tired he is.

| Hi. Layla is almost 6 months and not quite 3 lbs and just a bundle of energy.. but a walk really poops her out (i also love it cause she poops :P ) if i know i am going out for the evening and want her to sleep... we go for about 10 min and she is dragging her butt on the way home.. but she just loves walks.. always has to have a stick in her mouth.. too cute! but she is also really good at playing on her own outside... if i read a magazine outside she is content to run circles or fling around a stick. so that also wears her out.. what about fetch?? layla will play for hours if i let her... and sleeps just as long! |

| If he's crated he'll sleep most of the day anyway, whether you walk him or not. You just have to make sure you walk him at night so he can expend that pent up energy. If you are walking him in the morning so he will sleep I would say don't bother, he will sleep anyway.

| I would still take him out for a walk even if he were crated all day, otherwise he'll only be sleeping cos he's got no other option cos he's bored stiff, would be much better for him and his health if he were sleeping cos he was tired and had been out for some fresh air.
