| Who Else has problems getting there babys to take there monthly heart worm chewable? Who else has to trick there babies to take there heat worm pill every month? My vet gives me those chewable ones that are suppose to be "OH some yummy for doggies." yeah my girls HATE THEM! Bunny will push it back in my hand with he noise, if I try to give one to her... Kind of like no mommy you keep it! and bella smells it and walks away... as if she is saying. umm no thank you mommy, I'm good There such brats SO ever month I make chicken or tuna salad and put a little on a palt and mix up with the chewable. This is the ONLY way I can make sure they eat it all and dont get each others. Any one else have this problem? Or are my girls the only one? |

| Rocky hates them!!!! I try to hide in cheese, peanut butter, hamburger, chicken, or anything he will eat. Well he takes the food, but spits out the heartworm pill everytime. So I have to put him on the counter, put the pill in his back of his mouth, and gently hold his mouth closed so he swallow its. |

| I just break off a piece of Pupperoni and stick it in the middle and then there is no problem. |

| OMG!!! I thought for sure I was the ONLY one with this problem. Mine are on heartgard. Each month I literaly have to break up the cubes into the tinniest pieces. Then TRY and hide them in some sort of human snack food like oatmeal. And, even still this little stinkers will some times spit out the little pieces. |

| I use cheese. It takes about 3 tries. I think he spits it out just to get more cheese. Other pills I throw on his kibble or feed him like a treat. These he spits out. They must taste nasty or something?

| I finally gave up with trying to get Joey and Izzie to take theirs. It's kind of tough I would think to try and chew. They are now on Revolution and everything is working out great.

| I give Interceptor, which is a tiny little pill. I use that instead of Heartgard because mine are SO picky that they probably wouldn't eat the Heartgard. I wrap the little tiny Interceptor pill up in a piece of cheese and give it to them. Sometimes Hobbs will eat the cheese around the pill and spit the pill out. If this happens, I have to shove it down his throat! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | That's why I switched to Revolution! It's topical and does heartworm fleas, ticks and ear mites.

| Trixie hates hers. I don't even try to give them to her anymore. I just shove it down her throat, let her put and get it over with. |

| I've always asked them if they wanted a treat. Then I crumble it up in their plate and down it goes, but I always gave it to them when I knew they were hungry, too.

| My solution is called "I don't want my brother to have anything that I don't have" Rowdy is a VERY picky eater and even when we had another older dog - Rowdy would not touch heart guard, even when I broke it into pieces and gave one piece to the older dog and then (tried) one to Rowdy. He just wouldn't buy it. Then we got Rexy - and Rowdy is soooo competitive with Rexy - there is no longer any problem at all. Rexy will eat ANYTHING!!! So, when I give a piece of heartworm med to Rexy - Rowdy is chomping at the bit to get his bite. I'll swear - it's psychological!!!!! At least it works and there is no more heartworm med fights!

| Lily also hates hers. I have been crumbling them in some other yummy food but she generally pecks them out and still don't touch them. It takes me all day of continually mixing it in other food before it all goes down.
