| Ears... Cookie is 6 months and his ears have not gone up. Do all yorkie ears go up or not? And is there anything I can do to "help" him along with the process? |

| Most yorkies ears will go up if trained, it will take patients but tapping works great! There are plenty of sites that show how to do it. I will look for one if someone doesn't get it on before me |

Might be a little late, but you might taking hair off the ears on both sides, with a Peanut Shaver or a mustach shaver. You can then purchase Breath Rite Strips (med/large) Duo Eyelash glue. Cut the strips in half, remove the clear sticky tape, apply eylash glue. Now with the largest part towards the bottom, place the strip down as far as you can on the inside of the ear and press the rest of the strip upwards, holding until it the glue sets. It might work. If the strip comes of after a few days and the ears are up, monitor for about 24 hours, if they stay up yeah!!!!!. If not, reapply. It's worth a try. Mary

| Unfortuately I'm thinking it might be too late. Add on the fact that his ears are kind of big but in an endearing way We tried trimming the hair a couple months ago and they did go up a bit more but they have stayed the same since. Oh well, I will enjoy his cuteness this way Thanks for your help. |

| I have to Yorkie boys, one with ears up(Rowdy), on with ears down(Rexy) - and they have the same mom and dad!!! You can see them in my avatar. We tried shaving and taping and neither worked, so we decided Rexy was beautiful, even with "down" ears! I do know that some people have had success, even at 6 months - which is kinda late.

It might not be. I groom a little girl whose ears weren't up at almost a year. Shaved the ears on both sides, and her owner made sure she she shaved them weekly....she's almost 2 now and they've stayed up. The clue is keeping the weight off of them What I posted might be worth a try. It's what I do when some of my puppies have stubborn ears, due to teething or extra hair weight. I shave the ears before their eyes open, and if ears aren't up by 6 weeks I tape. Mary Mary

| Thank you for the link about ears! I could never quite figure out exactly what to "tape" - a picture really is worth a thousand words. I think it's too late for 9 mo old Chico, but I might give it a try...though we really like his ears down. Now, what part of the ear was I supposed to massage??? |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | I found this site it explains in detail about taping and shaving. http://members.cox.net/jrogan/ears.html Peeka's ears went up a day after i shaved them but Boo's ears are more stubborn it has taken about 6 weeks to get one ear up and the other almost there just a little flop on the end but we just keep shaving and massaging i really think the massaging a couple times a day helps Good luck!!
