Puppymill case, please help, please read I am pasting a post written by one of the Foster Parents of a Puppymill pup. I dont know how many of you know about the Puppymill case in TN,Jennifer Silliski convicted on counts of animal cruelty. Most of the dogs and pups are in foster care. Usually these pups go to loving homes after foster care or the Foster Family has first chance to adopt them. The judge has ordered all the pups to be auctioned off in mid October . Most of these foster families are devastated to have to give up these babies after caring for them since the beginning of this year. We are begging people to send heartfelt letters to this judge to please reconsider letting the foster families have the first chance to adopt these pups at a reasonable flat adoption fee.If you do send a letter please dont write this letter to tell this judge that he has no heart or other rude comments. This will probably cause the judge to be firm and final with his decision. The judge's address is below. thanks for reading, Genie JUDGE R.E.LEE DAVIES P.O. BOX 1469 FRANKLIN, TN. 37065 ORIGINAL POST: i know some of you have heard of the puppymill case here in tennessee. if not you may go to malteseonly.com and hollybellemaltese.com to catch up on the events. on august 27th, jennifer siliski was convicted of 11 counts of cruelty to animals. yesterday she was sentenced. after months of fostering our babies, the judge has ordered our babies back next month and has ordered them auctioned off to the public. i am asking for suggestions. can anyone here help us stop this auction? i guess you're wondering why i would come to yorkies direct with this. see, siliski not only has maltese (i use that word loosely as we have several maltese "combinations"). i am also fostering a beautiful little yorkie girl, and i can't imagine having to give her up after working all these months getting her emotionally and physically stable. can any of you imagine someone standing there holding your baby and asking for a bid? i would appreciate any suggestions you may have to offer

Yes, that's ridiculous that the foster parents don't have first right to adoption! Perhaps if you can get some press regarding this, it may help the case more, like the local news or local newspapers?

My letter, mailed today: The Honorable R.E. Lee Davies Post Office Box 1469 Franklin, TN 37065 Dear Judge Lee: I am writing in regard to your decision to auction off the puppies seized in the Jennifer Silliski case. Please reconsider and let the foster families who have taken such good care of these little ones have the first opportunity to adopt them. They have invested much time, money, and most importantly, love, in caring for these unfortunate victims of animal cruelty. They have truly “paid” for them with their caring. Families who foster animal shelter animals are loving, responsible people with the animals’ best interests at heart. Every shelter counts on these stalwart and loving people to help in times of need. When the community, animal shelters, and the courts work as a caring team to stamp out animal cruelty and right some of these awful wrongs, everyone wins -- most of all, the animal victims who cannot speak for themselves. Please reconsider your plan to auction all of these animals and allow any foster families who wish to adopt them to do so. Thank you very much for your kind consideration. Mary Ellen Cyr
