| Truth or Myth?!? I read somewhere that if a yorkie is really purebred then his eyes will glow green in pictures and in the dark. Is this true? Does it matter how old he/she is? Puppy's eyes always look sort of blue to me...

| I was told that it has to do with their coat. They can glow all kinds of colors, we have seen it in another post I think. I have seen orange, blue and green, I really dont think it has anything to do with being a purebreed or not.

| i also heard that it had to do with their coat. blue-means they will have a silky coat green-means they will have a cottony coat. but there have been members on here that had yorkies with green eyes in pictures and their coats were silky. |

| Out of africa Sometimes in the dark my Panzers eye's will glow and reflect light to the point it's scary kinda like a little raccoon. I'll wake up to go to the bathroom at night and he'll peer at me and it's like something out of africa because there is almost no light in the room but his eyes are almost orangish. |

| this was recently talked about on another thread... It has nothing to do with determining if your yorkie is a purebred...it has to do with the coat quality.. Take a picture with a flash, if in the pic your yorkies eyes reflect green it's said to be a silk coat.... if they reflect gold, red or amber it's said to be a modified coat. Some breeders live by this others do not.

| this was just talked about in the breeders thread a modified is considered any coat deviation from a true silk coat.. there are wooly, harsh, soft, cotton coats...often these coats are difficult to take care of...

| Cookie's eyes glow green and he has super silky soft coat. Mimi's eyes glowed blue until about a month ago! Now they show up green in the pictures. Her hair looks like it might be silky as well. I will know in about another two months for sure. Genie www.littlemimi.org |
