| Our new Pup weighs 1.9 at 9 weeks 1 day.... Does anyone know about how big he will be at full grown? I am just wondering if he will be a similar size to my other yorkie. The vet tech last night told me I wont know how big he is going to be until next month. Is this true? Also, one of the ladies there asked me if the new pup is a "teacup" and the vet tech turned and snapped, There is NO such thing as a TEACUP YORKIE!!! I just said to the lady, well, I dont really know? He's going to be what he is? I dont really care how big or small he is. |

| they say full grown they double their 12wk weight thats probably why ur vet tech said that... and it appears to be pretty true snickers was around 3lbs at 12wks and now she is 9months and between 6-7lbs (she kept moving it was hard to get an acurate weight!) i didnt think that woudl be the case because she had a huge growth spurt and was 4lbs at like 14-15wks but it seems to be holding true so far and from what i understand she is prob done with growing i hear yorkies stop after 6-9months mine was around 2.3lbs at 10wks so i am guessing yours will be a lil smaller than snickers maybe 5-6lbs but i would wait til her 12wk appt... good luck and post pics!!! |

| vet is right about "teacup". akc does not accept "teacup" or "tiny". this is a "toy" breed.

| My Gracie weighed 1 lb. 13 oz at 8 weeks. Her parents are 4 and 5 lbs. The vet said she still might be in that range, but might be a bit bigger. They go through growth spurts. Here is a link to a growth chart that is reportedly fairly accurate. It put Gracie's adult weight at 5.5 lbs. When I approached my breeder about this, she said Gracie's mom never had pups that got larger than 6 lbs. http://yorkiepassion.com/growthchart.htm

| At 9 weeks Diesel was 1.8 and now at a year old he is between 4.5 and 5 pounds. He hasn't been weighed in a long time. I will find out Thursday just how much he weighs. You should also look at the mom and dad. That should give you an idea as well. Diesel's dad was 4 pounds. Diesel's mom was 5.5 pounds. He is just as cute as he can be! Michelle |
