| How involved is your spouse/SO?? I'm just curious to know how involved your SO/Spouse is with your yorkie. My husband just kinda tolerates her at this point. He doesn't get up with her, feed or play with her. I'm hoping that will change as she becomes housebroken. I want him to love her like I do - and she works so hard to get his attention and win his affection! |

| My husband is in LOVE with Sandy, that's his baby. As to Tia, he is getting better but because she isn't housetrained he gets very annoyed with her very easily. Luckily, Sandy always sooths any ruffled feathers for him

| My husband doesn't pay attention to Adina. He's too into his German Sherpherd. Hope one day he sees just how beautiful she is and how sweet and good she is. Guess I will keep waiting for that day lol.. Smiles, Myra |

| My boyfriend absolutely loves her. He was pretty upset when I got her b/c it was not a joint decision and we live together. However, once a week went by he was completely hooked. Now I hear him telling her how much he loves her and is constantly giving her kisses. I am starting to get jealous, lol.

| My hubby caters to Lexi as if she was one of our children and Bentley sleep on him every night. Neither one of mine are completely house trained yet........oooooopppppss.........but we both pick up crap and clean up pee and bathe and change puppy pads and feed. So it's about 50/50. Some people just don't like small breeds. He may NEVER bond with her and this may ALWAYS be "your thing". Just like the fact that some men don't activley participate in the raising of their kids until the hard part "infant/toddler" is over with. I would just spoil my little girl and thank god you have someone you can bond with. They are gifts from heaven and if he doesn't like gifts ---oh well--- his loss! |

| My husband is a real dog lover and he tries to be all gruff and act like he doesn't like them, but then he will see them doing something cute and he will say "AHHHH". He loves to throw thing sfor them and watch them chase after it! I probably get on him too much for doing things I think he shouldn't like feeding them human food and trying to teach them to sit the wrong way, etc. I try to bite my tongue most times. He also felt like it wasn't fair to our other two dogs when I first got the yorkies, but I have been going over board with them too lately, brushing them, buying them treats and toys etc. so he doesn't think that anymore. He loves to have them on his lap while he is watching TV at night too. |

| Jack sleeps with us. my husband gets up usually about 5.30 in the morning, so he picks Jack up and they go in the living room to watch the morning news and drink coffee (not Jack, just my husband) Jack usually goes back to sleep on his lap until I get up around 6.30. During the day my husband will come into my store and will always make sure that Jack gets the first kiss and pat. (I am now second on the list). For a burly builder he sure has a soft spot for our little guy.

| Eli, my husband, actually was the one to choose a yorkie. I was debating a maltese or a toy poodle, even....and he talked some major sense into me. I'll never own anything but yorkies now, LOL! Eli is totally in love with "his boy" Sully! I just posted a funny post about the two of them just now... http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4953

| My husband is pretty involved in caring for our yorkies. At least 50/50- He gets up in the middle of the night with them if they need to go out (we take turns), he will take them to the vet, he buys them treats and stuff. Last week Mia ate a stick or something and it seemed to be stuck in her throat- he took her to the vet first thing in the morning, then took her to work with him for the rest of day so he could keep an eye on her. He is not a bit ashamed to have one of his "phoo, phoo dogs" with him. Last edited by Yorkie Owned; 04-25-2005 at 11:21 AM. |

| When I first got Tuffy, he was totally my dog, my responsibility. My husband grew up on a farm, so they treat dogs a lot differently.. he was used to dogs living outside and pretty much fending for themselves so he wasn't ready for a little frou frou dog. He also was freaked out he would hurt Tuffy because he was really delicate as a puppy. But now he is a little dog freak like me. He loves the little outfits I buy Tuffy and always likes to talk about him to his coworkers. In fact, Tuffy has totally become a Daddy's boy, he always cuddles up with him. Naturally that kinda peeves me because he used to be "my" dog. When I started hinting that I wanted another dog he was totally on board, he wanted another little dog; so after much discussion we decided on a Yorkie.. He loves Pixie to pieces and it's so cute to see this big manly guy with two little dogs that you can tell he loves so much. I'm really lucky that he loves them as much as I do.

| Jonny loves Hercules and Athena! He gets up first most nights with Athena if she whines or needs to go out. Usually I go to bed pretty early, and we put Athena to bed early too, in the crate in the room. That's when Hercules gets some "big boy" time, where he can roam around more than Athena can. Hercules usually falls asleep and Jonny plays on the computer. But most nights, I wake up in the middle of the night to find Jonny fast asleep on the couch with Hercules. Same story every morning... he was whining and looked cute so I layed down with him and fell asleep! Hercules gets more cuddle time than I do with Jonny now!
