| Won't go for walks Hi My yorkie Penny is about 3 months old...she was for about two weeks going for walks regularly and happily with my chihuahua, but yesterday she decided she didn't want to walk away from the house. She walks for a little bit then pulls hard on her leash to walk in the opposite direction towards the house. I can't think of any event that might have frightened her. She doesn't appear to be scared of anything, she just puts her butt on the sidewalk and refuses to walk...I don't think anything is physically wrong, because in the house she walks and runs fine. Can someone please help? I really want to be able to take her out for walks... Thanks |

| Sounds like she has a mind of her own. I would just try to talk to her and gently coax her to come along. When she is walking good tell her what a good girls she is. Remmy goes through this and he is 3. There is a certain spot on our walk that he just sits his but down. It is always in the same place and once we get past it he is fine. It is in the beginning of our walk that he does this.

| Perhaps it is just a period like most yorkies go through when they're a bit more timid. It will probably pass, but be gentle and perhaps walk ahead of her and offer a treat that she enjoys as incentive. Mine crawls over me about 6 a.m. and wakes me up to go for walks! It's the only time of day that it is cool enough until after dark!
