| There is no reasoning with this dog! I have been trying to give him his benadryl with a little syringe, and he is not amused! How in the heck do you guys do it? I wish I could reason with him. Bribe him. Or even just explain that it is going to help him feel better. But nope, he is not a happy camper today. Any suggestions? |

| If you can, try giving it to him in a pill instead of liquid. Or just hold him |

| The medication Sissy was given for the 2nd round of Giardia was a liquid. She would freak when she saw the syringe come out, but I'd put her on the kitchen counter, get her in a football type of hold and open her mouth with one arm/hand while I squirted with the other. It always worked, though not pleasant for she or I!!!

| Great ideas! I got 1/4 of a dose in him a little while ago, with the help of his favorite... Peanut Butter. But he threw it right up... I am waiting for dh to get home to help me give him a full dose, I don't think I should give it to him pill form because it'll come right up. At least with liquid, it can get into his blood stream a bit before it comes back up. No fun! What flavor do you guys have... mine is Bubble Gum... I totally thought he'd like it. |

Try putting Nutrical on a pill, if the pill is big cut it into a couple pieces. Rocky's on a medicine, and I put it in cheese and he knew that there was something different about the cheese so he wouldn't eat it. Then I put Nutrical on my finger tip and the pill, and as he licked the nutrical he licked up the pill and swallowed it. A pill is easier to hold down, you dont have that nasty taste in your mouth, and one quick swallow and it's gone..no hesitating. I would defniitly try it if I were you! | |

| Cream cheese is really healthy for dogs and will hide the taste. He maybe thowing it up becase of the excitement or the surenge is hitting his gag reflex. Maybe if it is mixed with a tiny bit of something he really likes he'll lap it right up. good luck i know how hard it can be |
