| What's going on??? I just recently bought a yorkie a week ago. she is now 9 weeks old. the breeder had her on science diet and the first week or so she was eating it pretty well. now she won't eat it. she sniffs it and bags away. i've taken her to the vet and they gave me canned science diet food plus she had coccidia. she ate a/d at the vet office fine. i get her home she aint fine. but the net day she wouldn't eat the canned food or the dry food. i've been forcing her to eat nutrical. is the science diet food irritating her, do i need to switch brands. she is on albon for the coccidia. she wasn't eating that good before she got on the med and the canned science diet food is giving her semi loose stools. can any one please give me some advise. |

| Try mixing the food with cottage cheese. Another thing you could do is make some boiled chicken and rice. It is common for them not to eat when they are sick. Make sure to give the nutrical 3 X a day.

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | I'd also get her some quality puppy food....there is a Health and diet section here...you can read about the different foods - but do make sure she eats and drinks lots of water... The medicine may be bothering her - but she has to eat. The nutrical will help - I had to do this with my Chanel when I first got her - she had coccidia too. Good luck ! |

| Welcome to YT!! The medicine is probably messing with her taste buds. Try a premium puppy food such a Merricks. They also make a canned "puppy plate" that looks like real stew. Maybe that would entice her to eat something. Keep up with the Nutrical, too. Keep us posted.

| both of my puppies had coccidia when I got them. they treated mine with the same thing, but anytime you give them worming medicine it will make their stools loose. Or it did mine and everyone told me it was the med. after meds was over everything was normal.
