| Floppy ear I have a 13 week old, AKC reg., male yorkie. Within the last week his left ear has flopped over, anyone know why? He doesn't act like it itches, or bothers him....any thoughts??? It won't go back up! |

| He might have so much hair on his ear that it is weighing it down. You can try getting the top part of it shaved down. |

| no, his just a baby, he doesn't have much hair on his ear. The vet looked in it and said he didn't see anything wrong, he just looks silly now. |

| Sometimes yorkies' ears just flop for no reason. My sister's yorkie started out with both ears up, but now she is 4 years old and she has one up and one down. |

Peeka Boo I See You! Donating Member | Taping is when you tape the ear up here is a link to a site that shows how to do it. Welcome to YT. also i've heard when they are teething getting shots or are stressed thier ears can fall but they do go back up. http://members.cox.net/jrogan/ears.html

| My vet told me that when they are teething this happens. It can happen up to one year. I'm sure it will go back up!

| My input is this, Just massage his ear from time to time, and it will be fine soon. Here is Remi when his ear was down(2 month), when we got him. Now his ears are up. |

| Could he be teething?? Sometimes they do go down. I bought my puppy when she was 13 weeks. Both her ears fell. The breeder told me that they fell because she was teething. I had the groomer shave them and they went up. Good luck!! |

| Stanley's ears used to stand up. The breeder I got him from was taping his ears to keep them up. She even cut his ear when she took the tape off =( A good chunk was missing. Anyway, back to the subject, his ears were up when he came home. Then a few weeks later, one flopped down. A few weeks after that, both of them came down and it doesn't look as if they will be going back up. I really don't know why it did that? I don't really care though. He's just a companion and I actually think it looks cute on him. Good luck on figuring it out though!!
