| Please Help Me With Questions About Selling My Babies!!! PLEASE!!! I'm wanting to write up my 1st Ad to sell my 3 babies for pets...I've never done this before...They will be 12 weeks old this coming Thursday. I'm gonna be VERY picky about their new homes...What about an background check?? What does that consist of? Should I do it? What about Questions to ask the people when they come to see them? What about health contract? I've only seen Teddy's parents and Tiffanie's Dad...I have no idea what their health background is!(This I will know on my next dog! Learned that from here!!!!!!!!!) (My Husband just bought Teddy & Tiffanie for me for X-Mas! We had NO idea on what to search for before buying!! I know my Bad!All I know is that I've never had to take Teddy or Tiffanie to the vet for nothing but shots & Tiffanie to see if she was gonna be a new mommy and her check up after our babies was born in the year & 1/2 I've had them...They are healthy by what our Vet says & Our puppies has been to the vet 3 times...1st time for tails and dew claws & check up...Clean bill of health then, 2nd time 1st shots, check up, clean bill of health then too, 3rd time 2nd shots and 2nd wormer, clean bill of health then too and my vet is writing me up a statement stating that they are all in good health to give to the owners...So do I really need a Health Contract?? Or is that just for the show dogs?? Or higher price dogs?? I'm thinking of asking $500.00 for our male and $600.00 for our females...What about getting the people that buys them to get them spaded or neutered?? How do I do that? Should I do that? What about asking for down payments now since they are already 12 weeks old...I should of done that earier right? Do I just sell them now straight out without down payments? I thought about placing an ad in the Indianapolis Star...To try to get better people to buy them...Don't want NO puppy mills getting them! Can any of U answer ANY & ALL of my questions...To me this is so hard and I want to do it right for the sake of my puppies! I haven't even advertised them yet..No down payments on none of them nothing...See I'm really learning here with this litter! My next litter I'll know more...& Yes I should of learned more BEFORE we had this litter! My BAD agian! Please can U all help me? Any other thoughts??? Where should I try to advertise them at besides our local newspaper? Thanks So Very Much & Hugs, Lee & Babies Tiffanie "Tiffy" Ranae: http://www.dogster.com/?316369 Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt: http://www.dogster.com/?316383 |

Donating YT 1000 Club Member | I can't answer most of your questions. Buy will give you my Your dogs seem very reasonably priced. I would start by trying right here on YT in the dogs for sale forum. This is where you know people are seriously looking. Post pictures for sure. I found our little Jill via the classifieds in a large publication newspaper in our state and only ended up driving 60 miles to get her. Certainly the Indianapolis Star would get you lots of exposure. We had to go for an interview with our breeder and they were very comfortable with us after meeting us. We did get a health guarantee. Also, a clause that when we get her spayed and provide proof, we will receive a $200 refund. Good luck finding forever homes for your little furbabies!

| I'm not a breeder, but I can tell you about my experiences in buying my two puppies: Baby Ruth's breeder asked me these questions: 1. Where do you live (Toronto, Mississauga, etc.) 2. Is it a house or condo 3. Do you have a secure fenced in backyard/or enclosed balcony 4. Have you owned a dog before and what happened to it 5. Are you planning on crating her when you are away or for training 6. How long will she be on her own while you are at work 7. Do you realize that she is not to be bred and must be spayed by 7 months of age 8. Do you have young children 9. Are you prepared for a lifetime commitment as they can live up to 15 years I'm not sure about a background check, but what about just asking for a couple personal references that you could call (I know some shelters do that before letting you adopt a dog). You don't HAVE to offer a health gaurantee - especially if you're unsure of the lineage. Oscar has a 2 year gaurantee against the two genetic disorders commonly found in yorkies, Baby Ruth has a 1 year gaurantee. In both cases, if the dog were to be diagnosed with Legges Perthes or liver shunt, they would replace the puppy (like I would ever return them!). I think this is a common stipulation... For the price you are charging, I wouldn't offer a health gaurantee at all. Are the dogs papered? That could be your stipulation for having them spayed or neutered - that they don't recieve the papers to have the dog registered in their name if they don't provide proof that the dog has been spayed or neutered. I agree with JillandJack about posting the puppies for sale on here - you already know that the people on here are the best people to take care of your puppies - we're all yorkie crazy! I have the actual contract from Baby's breeder in Word format if you would like me to send it to you - it might give you an idea of how to word things, what you want to include, etc. Just pm me your email address and I'll send it to you.

| A background check would require getting personal info, so I don't think that is a good idea. Oscarsmom had a good list. I would not feel worried about posting them here. People on here have all sizes shapes and colors. You are not claiming tem to be show quality. They wiil be nice pets no matter what the quality. Tell us about the mom and dad., How big are they. and post pictures. No one should be judging you. |

Sadly, your quick negative response is exactly the kind of thing she's afraid of.

I will ask all the questions U're breeder ask U and more! The personal references is a great idea!! I'll do that too! As far as the health gaurantee, when I got Tiffanie and Teddy I never got one with them...We just bought each of them @ 6 weeks of age and brought them home! I really don't want to offer a health gaurantee for I know NOTHING about their grandparents...I'm gonna try to find Tiffanies breeder but Teddy's no he didn't seem to smart when we bought Teddy...I mean he loved his dogs (Took them every where with him) but Teddy was full of fleas when we got him home...I mean I got him a bath and man I couldn't beleive it...That was on a Friday evening...That Sat. morning as soon as the Vet opened up I got him to the Vet and got meds and they we're gone! I honestly think he would of died from them if we hadn't got them off of him...He wouldn't play or nothing but once they was gone he came in to it...So without knowing about the grandparents back ground I couldn't promise anything...All I know is mine are in good healthy shape now! Yes ALL my dogs are AKC and I've got the litter registered also...As far as the spayed or neutered I think I'll have them do it like U all say. I'll copy all U've said and keep it so I know how and what to do!
