| hair changing??? At what age do their hairs start changing for their adult coat? Does their coat change completely or just grow? What is it supposed to look like? for example my dog is 5 and a half months old and her hair is changing already. Is this her already hair or just a summer type thing. The hair has gone from kind of thick and now it is sort of thin and dry. I am using hills puppy food. I am giving her flex oil for the past few weeks. Is this supposed to change the result the coat yet? Should i wait till the new coat comes in? Her new hair color is about half to three fourths of a strand long. Any advice welcome. Thank you. |

| Her hair is coming in very nicely, she is gorgeous!! You will see color change till about 2 to 3 years of age. Use a good shampoo and conditioner on her, salmon oil mixed in her food will help for dry hair.

| Chachi and Jewels hair started changing when they were about 4 months old. Now they are 18 months and their hair has changed all the way.

| She is BEAUTIFUL! Mimi's hair is changing quickly but Timmy's hair isn't. I use missing link for Timmy because his coat was very dry. I seen results within 1 week. I also now use Petsilk products and they also carry a serum that is wonderful. His coat is not dry anymore and it's been only 1 month since I started using Petsilk and missing link. Try using another shampoo & conditioner. There are several out there that are very good. |

Anyhow, your baby is CUTE!!!!! Mine is almost 8 months old & his hair looks almost exactly like that. I know I am not much help. I am going to piggyback off your post & see if someone can answer for me too. My Sammy's back hair has been all black for all these months, but just recently started to turn white/grey/silverish underneath (same way his head turned when he was just about 3 months old). I can't figure out what he is going to look like when his hair changes. Can someone take a look at my baby (this pic is before the change) & tell me what color he might end up being? Thanks!! | |

| What she is doing is normal, I would guess that she won't be a color holding dog..she will likely go light on you. (meaning she'll be more of a silver color when she gets older) due to the fact that her head has already cleared, and you have that much breaking on her body already... If you spay her soon, she will hold better color, as hormones play a part in making them go light. Pretty girl. Quote:

| Your Sammy is going to be dark blue. He is just maturing naturally. You can tell by his rate of breaking, and the color of his gold that he will be dark. Quote:

I Love My Lil' Punkin's Donating Member | Wow! Oh my goodness...her coloring reminds me sooo much of my Stedman's!! I mean it is almost exact!! He is 5 months and 3 days old, and his coloring (was) identical to hers...up until the groomer screwed him up and cut his hair WAY too short ...now he is solid silver on his head....and a darker silver on his back. But I swear, right before we had him groomed (which was only 2 weeks ago), he had the exact same coloring as your little girl He had the silver stripe down his back....he looked like a little skunk lol. Stedman started getting ALOT of silver on his head at around 3 and 1/2 months of age...and I started to notice the silver comming in on his back at around the same time. However, he is still totally changing color and of course he will be for a while It is so interesting to watch them change...and even more interesting when you go back and look at pictures of them when they were younger and they are a totally different color! lol. By the way, your baby is such a beauty!

| Holding Color I guess I don't really know what this means. Don't we want them to lighten up & turn silver? Are you saying that if a dog is spayed earlier, her hair will be darker than if she was spayed later? Hate to be so dumb, let's say uninformed, it sounds better. LOL! |

| This was Kacee at eight months. You can see the black still on her sides then.

| It's amazing the different colors that Yorkies are. My little black 8-week-old pup - had a black/silver coat with the most beautiful golden tan on his face and other places - by the time he was four months old...... and he hasn't changed a lot since then. He's 11 months old now. Carol Jean |
