| Lucy's Birthday!! Its Lucy's birthday today and she is 3!!!!! She has been treated like even more of a princess today than usual and had lots of treats bought for her! Her fave part of the day though was playing in the park with a new yorkie pup called Daisy (sorry didnt have the camera on me!!!) She is sooo knackered that she is just crashed out on the bed next to be and not even stirring while I eat my chocolate bar! (Unheard of!!) What does anyone else do (or plan to do) for their furbabies birthdays??? |

| Happy Birthday Lucy!!!! I plan on throwing my little girl a party. I have about four friends and there little dogs that I am going to invite. I found a recipe for 'pup cakes' in an old copy of 'Modern Dog' that I am going to make. it even tells you how to make dog freindly icing But I'm planning way ahead. Her birthday isn't until December

| Pupcakes 3 cups flour 1 tbsp baking powder 1/2 cup butter, softened 6 eggs, beaten 1/2 cup corn oil 2 jars strained chicken baby food (for humans) 2 cups finely grated carrots 2 cups plain or vanilla yogurt (a thicker, Balkan-style yogurt is preferred) 2 or 3 strips bacon, fried crisp, then crumblerd, or beef jerky strips, cut into bits Preheat oven to 350 degrees f and generously grease and flour 2 muffin pans. Combine flour and baking powder; set aside. In a mixing bowl, beat butter until smooth, then add eggs and corn oil; mix well. Add the chicked and carrots and mix until smooth, then add the flour mixture and mix thoroughly. Pour batter into the prepared muffin pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Let cool for a few minutes before removing from the pans. Cool completely on wire racks. "Ice" each cupcake with yogurt. Sprinkle crumbled bacon or bits of jerky strips over top or use "Pupperoni" sticks in place of a candle.
