Cooper Update I posted a couple of days ago about Cooper who has a luxating patella. I took him to my reg. vet who did the surgery to find out why Cooper is so uncomfortable now. He thinks the knee popped out again and he also thinks that the pin is bothering him. They are going to put him out tomorrow morning and take the pin out and hopefully put the knee in place. I am not sure what they will do to keep it there. I asked my vet if he thought I should take him to an orthopedic surgeon and he said "not yet." So I am going to wait and see what happens tomorrow and then decide what to do. If he says we will have to wait and see if it pops out again then I am going to take him to a surgeon and get their opinion. I have also been trying to put some pictures here but I have to resize them so I do have Cooper and Annie's pictures at this link if anyone would like to see my babies. http://www.dogster.com/?340570 This is a great site by the way. So much information, I am still trying to find my way around. Thanks!

Poor Cooper. I hope they can fix it. Sherman just had both knees done. I had several opinions and opted to send him to an orthopedic specialist. I thought that if I were having my knees done, I would only have a specialist so he should too. Good luck and I hope Cooper gets back to his old self soon!

How long ago did Sherman have his surgery and how is he doing now? I am just kicking myself now for not taking him to the surgeon. I had it scheduled and the day before the surgery my vet, who I have used for 12 years, called and assured me he could do it. I trusted him and now I am sorry. Maybe this would have happened anyway but I will never know now. Thanks for your reply.
